Description

JAPAN in 1982 was running towards the end while achieving a breakthrough with “TIN DRUM”. The standard soundboard recording has evolved into a complete version. What is sealed in this work is “Leiden performance on October 7, 1982”. This is a stereo soundboard recording that captures a night in the Netherlands. From their last “SONS OF PIONEERS TOUR”, not only the traditional official live album “OIL ON CANVAS” but also the ultimate soundboard album “BUDOKAN 1982”, which we are proud of, was born. In order to sort out that relationship, let’s first look at the schedule at the time. 1981 [“TIN DRUM” released on November 13th] “VISIONS OF CHINA TOUR”・December 7th-27th: UK #1 (17 performances) 1982 “SONS OF PIONEERS TOUR”・October 1st-11th Sun: Europe (6 performances) ←★Coco★ ・October 20th – November 29th: UK #2 (30 performances) ← *Official “OIL ON CANVAS” ・December 3rd + 4th: Hong Kong (2 performances)・December 8th-16th: Japan (8 performances) ← *”BUDOKAN 1982″ This is JAPAN in 1981/1982. “OIL ON CANVAS” was recorded in his home country of England, and “BUDOKAN 1982” was recorded in Japan, the final performance country, whereas the Leiden performance of this work was the fourth concert of the “European” leg in continental Europe. This show is also known for being broadcast on the radio on local stations in the Netherlands, and official FM soundboards have become standard. However, although the sound was great, the decisive drawback was the length. It was broadcast on two stations, “VARA Radio” and “VPRO Radio,” but neither was the complete broadcast of the show, and the longest broadcast was only three songs: “Sons Of Pioneers,” “Alien,” and “Methods Of Dance.” is insufficient. In addition, interviews were covered with several songs, and it was not as good as a full show. This situation has continued for many years, but recently overseas enthusiasts have compiled the existing soundboard takes. They have updated the highest level in terms of sound, and have also announced a new master that has been compiled into a full show format. That is the true nature of this work. The key is the combination of two broadcasts. In the first place, the fact that there were two types of broadcasts was in itself extremely maniacal news, but by combining them, it became possible to supplement the parts that were cut in the missing songs and interviews. However, even with the combination of both broadcasts, “Methods of Dance” was not enough. Therefore, the maniac who compiled this work is supplemented with a take of “OIL ON CANVAS” from the London performance. We realized the complete form of the show. Moreover, this “Methods of Dance” is also no ordinary thing. Uses the upgraded version released as the DVD “THE VERY BEST OF JAPAN”. We pursue the best in every possible way. The full show in continental Europe, which was born with such precision work, is similar and different from the “OIL ON CANVAS” in his home country. Let’s organize the sets while comparing them here. Lonely Shadow (4 songs)・Gentlemen Take Polaroids/Swing/Nightporter/Methods of Dance (☆) Taiko no Taiko (7 songs)・Sons of Pioneers/Cantonese Boy/Visions of China/Canton/Ghosts/Still Life in Mobile Homes /The Art of Parties Others (5 songs)・Quiet Life: Alien (★) / Quiet Life / Fall In Love With Me (★)・Single: European Son (★) / Life in Tokyo (★) *Note: “ ★” marks are songs that cannot be heard in the traditional official work “OIL ON CANVAS”. The “☆” mark is a take from the “1982 Hammersmith Odeon performance.” …and it looks like this. The number of “QUIET LIFE” and single songs has been increased, but the one I would like to pay particular attention to is “Fall In Love With Me”. In fact, this song is a rare song that is too delicious to be heard even on the ultimate sound board “BUDOKAN 1982” of the Japanese performance. If you are paying attention to this article, you will have experienced “OIL ON CANVAS” and “BUDOKAN 1982,” and it would be meaningless to describe the sound world backed by that unique aesthetic in words. It is no exaggeration to say that this work, together with those two super masterpieces, forms a trilogy. Until now, the Leiden performance soundboard was for collection, but it has evolved into a trilogy due to the passion of overseas enthusiasts. Of course, for those who only know the official version, “BUDOKAN 1982” is the first to recommend, but the collection will be complete only by adding this work, which also allows you to experience “Fall In Love With Me.” A superb soundboard album of such a dimension. Masterpiece stereo soundboard recording of “Leiden performance on October 7, 1982″. A new master by an overseas enthusiast, a complete version created by combining two previously known incomplete radio broadcasts (only “Methods of Dance” is a separate performance). The sound has also been updated to the highest peak ever, and you can also enjoy “Fall In Love With Me”, which cannot be heard on the traditional official version “OIL ON CANVAS” or the ultimate soundboard album “BUDOKAN 1982”. This is a new masterpiece that has evolved into a trilogy that rivals the two great albums mentioned above.
