Description
This is a soundboard recording from a broadcast master of a show held in Santa Fe, New Mexico on March 27, 1966, before Janis’ record debut. Janis, who stood out in the hippie scene in San Francisco at the time, joined the local blues band Big Brother & The Holding Company as a vocalist. The official album “BIG BROTHER AND THE HOLDING COMPANY” recorded after that was released, and while it was not talked about at all at the time, it is well known that the screaming performance at the legendary Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 attracted attention overnight. This 1966 live performance is thought to be the oldest live recording of Janis, and the performance, which shines like a diamond that became the beginning of the legend, including the numbers that were later included in the album, is tear-jerking. 01. Flower In The Sun / 02. Road Block / 03. Summertime #1 / 04. Piece of My Heart / 05. All Is Loneliness / 06. Down on Me / 07. Bye Bye Baby / 08. Farewell Song / 09. Amazing Grace / 10. High Heeled Sneakers / 11. Raise Your Hand / 12. Magic Of Love / 13. Summertime #2 [Live at The Santa Fe , New Mexico, USA, March 27th 1966 : soundboard recording]
