Description

James Taylor remained popular in the 1990s, with six consecutive platinum albums from “JT”, which reached his peak after transferring to Columbia, to “NEW MOON SHINE”. The best soundboard album born from that stage is now available. This work depicts Halloween from 30 years ago. This is a stereo soundboard recording of “October 31, 1991 New York City Performance”. Speaking of the “NEW MOON SHINE” era, the traditional official version “LIVE” was also left, but of course this work is a separate performance. In order to understand the positional relationship in that area, let’s first look back at the schedule at that time. 1991, May 18: New Haven performance [“NEW MOON SHINE” released on September 24], October 2 – November 11: North America #1 (18 performances) ←★Here★ 1992, March 6th + 12th: North America #2 (2 performances) ・May 16th + 21st: Italy (2 performances) ・June 13th – September 16th: North America #3 (45 performances) ・October 10th – 11th March 25th: North America #4 (14 performances) ← *Official “LIVE” This is James Taylor in 1991/1992. The official version “LIVE” was produced more than a year after the album was released, but the New York performance of this work was earlier. This concert was the 12th performance of “North America #1”, which has been enthusiastic about the release of “NEW MOON SHINE”. This work recorded at such a show is a superb stereo sound board with a “super” rating. One theory is that it is also called FM broadcasting, but the type of sound it produces is an outflow system that is directly connected to a mix console. I can hear the loud cheers and the voices of the audience laughing at the jokes, so I’m not disappointed, but that’s from a distance. If the playing sound is solid, Taylor’s singing voice is also meaty, dynamic even when played simply, and beautifully separated even when played in a large household of 10 people. It’s “completely official grade” without any questions asked, but compared to the actual official version “LIVE”, there is no echo processing and the outline is even more vivid. It depends on your preference, but if you are a sound board enthusiast, it is a transcendent quality that can be said to be “beyond the official”. What is drawn with that vivid sound is a full show that is similar to “LIVE”. The members are the same up to the chorus, but the details of the set are different. Let’s compare and organize them here. Warner Bros. Era (12 songs)・Carolina in My Mind/Something In The Way She Moves・Sweet Baby James: Country Road/Fire and Rain/Steamroller Blues・Mud Slide Slim: You’ve Got a Friend・One Man Dog: Don’t Let Me Be Lonely Tonight・Walking Man・Gorilla: Wandering (★)/Mexico/How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)・In the・Pocket: Shower the People Columbia Era (14 songs) ・JT: Secret o’ Life/Traffic Jam/Your Smiling Face ・Flag: Up on the Roof ・Daddy’s Smile: I Will Follow ・To Changing People: Only One ・Never Die Young: Sun On The Moon/Never Die Young (★) New Moon Shine: (I’ve Got To) Stop Thinkin’ ‘Bout That (★)/Copperline/Down In The Hole (★) /Slap Leather/The Frozen Man (★)/Shed A Little Light *Note: Songs marked with a “★” cannot be heard even on the official traditional edition “LIVE (30 songs)”. …and it looks like this. As it was right after the release of the album, they performed a full 6 songs of “NEW MOON SHINE”. In particular, “Down In The Hole” is an extremely rare song that has only been played so many times. Also, even among past songs, “Wandering” and “Never Die Young” were only played a few times during this tour. It’s a super superb stereo sound board album that comes close to the double platinum solo live work “LIVE”…no, it could even surpass it. It is a masterpiece as a musical work, and an inevitable two-disc set that can be enjoyed as a sister work to the official masterpiece. Superb stereo soundboard recording of “October 31, 1991 New York City Performance”. It has an ultra-direct sound that feels like it’s connected directly to a mix table, and is dynamic even when played simply, and it separates beautifully even when played in a large household of 10 people. Although it is “completely official grade” without any questions asked, there is no echo processing compared to the actual official version “LIVE”, the outline is even more vivid, and if you are a sound board enthusiast, it is a transcendent quality that can be said to be “beyond official”. This is an absolutely superb album with delicious repertoire that cannot be heard even on LIVE, such as the new songs from “NEW MOON SHINE” and “Wandering” and “Never Die Young.” Paramount Theater, New York City, NY, USA 31st October 1991 STEREO SBD Disc 1(73:08) 1.
