This is a live recording at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison from the 1976 tour with the masterpiece “IN THE POCKET” that concluded the glorious Warner era in the 70s. This is a really great quality audience recording, with some sound rubbing that seems to be tape deterioration in some places (for example, the beginning of “Carolina In My Mind”) and occasional microphone noise (for example, “How Sweet It Is”). After all, the sound image is very close, and not only Taylor’s singing voice but also the outstanding backing of the tour band centered around the members of his ally The Section are recorded with a vivid balance, and although it is an audience recording, it is of great quality that can be enjoyed by beginners and enthusiasts alike. Speaking of the 1976 “IN THE POCKET” tour, the Syrian Mosque radio broadcast two weeks later has become a standard, and even a gray zone CD has now been released. However, the recording was only 40 minutes long, which fits on a single LP for broadcasting, and was not enough to experience the actual stage. This Red Rocks will solve all of these enthusiasts’ dissatisfaction in one go. The recording finally reveals the full picture of the stage. David Lindley, who also participated in the album and had a strong presence on the radio, not only added a touch of glamour with his fiddle from the opening, but also played banjo on “Carolina In My Mind”. In addition, saxophonist David Sanborn, who was a prominent studio musician at the time and participated in the previous album “Gorilla”, is also featured in the forefront. Since the tour was carried out with the dream team of the members of The Section, the release of this recording will delight enthusiasts all over the world. And since it was the 70s Warner era at the height of their popularity, the excitement in the venue was incredible.
