Description

This is the title of a very rare club gig in London in 1973, which was recorded with the highest quality audience recording at the time (possibly a recording of the people involved?). Speaking of 1973, there are two movie soundtracks and the release of The Payback, but there are no songs from these albums, and as a result, the songs are close to 1972 and early 1973 (March to May, and I own the master) I think this is a recording made a little earlier than that, as some people have said. The live performance begins with Get On The Goodfoot’s intense funk, and what makes me happy at this time of year is that famous songs from the classic 2-disc Get On The Good Foot are being played. Especially goosebumps will be listening to the live version of I Got A Bag Of My Own. The studio songs also have a reputation as funk, but what you can hear here is a wonderful version that pursues even more funkness. Also, the horn-based instrumental called Dirty Harri is a hidden masterpiece that Prince actually played. If you listen to it, you’ll probably think you’ve heard it before. Sex Machine and Super Bad are hyper, but still have an earthy feel to them, and I’m sure you’ll think they’re cool because of their slightly different arrangements, which are typical of their heyday. Escape-ism, Soul Power, I Can’t Stand Myself, Cold Sweat, the colors of Fred Wesley and the aggressiveness of The Godfather are mixed together, making this funk live a masterpiece!
