Description

Not only BADLANDS with Ray Gillan, but also RATT and ROUGH CUTT, who were members in the early days, and even phantom projects… Jake E. Lee’s treasured studio recordings that we only knew about from his biography are all at once Gathered at. It will be preserved forever with the highest quality ever! Looking back, Jake’s career was truly diverse. He moved around the popular LA metal scene and blossomed with Ozzy. After that, he continued to participate in various projects in addition to the famous band BADLANDS. However, although most bands/projects have not released official albums, they have left their mark on a song-by-song basis. This work is a collection of such extremely rare tracks. It is a studio album where you can fully enjoy all 16 songs by 5 bands in super high quality. How deep and decisive is this work? The best way to do that is to introduce individual takes. Let’s get started. [1981: MICKEY RATT (1 song)] First up is RATT, led by Stephen Percy. Jake was with the band when they still called themselves “MICKEY RATT.” At that time, RATT had no members other than Stephen at the time of their debut, with Bob Deleris on the side guitar and Matt Thrall and Dave Alford, who would later become members of ROUGH CUTT in the early days, in the rhythm section. Jake also had the surname “Williams” which is his real name. Although they did not leave any official recordings, Stephen later released a collection of early rare tracks, “THE GARAGE TAPE DAYZ 78–81.” “Top Secret” was also included there. For the time being, it’s a demo, but for a fledgling band, each demo is a serious battle for the future. This track is also of official quality in terms of completion and sound, and you can enjoy young Jake and Stephen co-starring with the same quality as their work after their debut. [1981-1982: ROUGH CUTT (2 songs)] Despite leaving some great demos, Jake and Dave Alford (drums) left RATT in 1981 and formed ROUGH CUTT with famous singer Paul Shortino. Participated in. Although the album production was not completed here, in fact, Jake’s record debut was at this time. They contributed two songs, “A Little Kindness” and “Used & Abused,” to the LA Metal compilation album “LA’S HOTTEST UNSIGNED ROCK BANDS” released in 1983. This compilation is an extremely rare item that has never been made into an official CD until now, but for this work, we have digitized the actual item in the best condition. The contents are truly a treasure. MICKEY RATT was also wonderful, but this is a completely professional production produced by the great Ronnie James Dio himself (the keyboard is also played by Claude Schnell, who later joined DIO). If not only the sound but also the songs are exquisite, the vocal and guitar performances can also be called masterpieces. It easily overturns the prejudice that surrounds rare tracks, “in the end, they’re just bad songs that are rare.” It’s a cultural loss that such great songs and tracks are still not available on official CDs. It is a treasure that I can say that. [1988-1992: BADLANDS (8 songs)] Now, after ROUGH CUTT, Jake made his major debut with Ozzy Osbourne. “Howl at the Moon” and “Crime and Punishment” move the history of heavy metal itself. Since their success is well known, we will omit them, and in this work we will move on to the famous band BADLANDS that followed. 1988: 4 demo songs BADLANDS is the essence and peak of Jake music. As a result, there are many rare tracks, and this work also includes eight hidden treasures. The content is broadly divided into two types, the first four songs being demos for the debut album (only “The Last Time” was included in the 2nd album). This is a take that has been known until now, but in this work it is digitized from the tapes owned by the late Ray Gillan. 1991-1992: 4 official super rare tracks Next up are the tracks produced after the 2nd album “VOODOO HIGHWAY”, but these are super rare. The song “Time Goes By” provided to the World Athletics Championships is also a rare song that was only released as a Japanese CD single, but it is still a jab. Even more valuable is “Want To Live With You.” This song was written at the request of a friend in Japan, and is actually a commercial song for a local bank in Wakayama Prefecture. This is a rare track that was only included on the not-for-sale CD single distributed only at this bank, and in addition to the track with Ray’s song, it also includes an instrumental version of the coupling. The last song is “Jade’s Song”, which is familiar from the debut album. The album was acoustic, but this take is a different version with electric added like the live performance at the time. Although it was released under a solo name, it was performed by BADLANDS. [1994: WICKED ALLIANCE (4 songs)] After BADLANDS disbanded, Jake released another album with his solo album “A FINE PINK MIST” in 1996, but before that he had also launched another project. I did. That is the phantom band, WICKED ALLIANCE. The members are Jimmy Bain and Mandy Lion, former members of WWIII, and Ray Luzier, who will be joining KORN. Originally, WWIII was a band made up of Jimmy and Vinnie Appice, but Vinnie and Tracy G participated in the rebuilding of DIO. This is the form with Jake joining the remaining Jimmy and Maddie. In the end, even though they didn’t get to the point of releasing an album at the time, they produced a demo. Those are the four songs in this work. It may have a rather modest image, but this is actually quite a bargain. As you might imagine if you are familiar with WWIII, Mandy has a voice that is very similar to Paul Deano, with a more aggressive style (close to Deano from the band KILLERS). BADLANDS was a bitter blues rock, but WICKED ALLIANCE seemed to be aiming for a direction that made the Ozzy era much heavier, and for the first time in a while you can enjoy Jake playing metallically. [2000: BOURGEOIS PIG (1 song)] Last but not least is the fantastic band, BOURGEOIS PIG. This is a project centered around Richard Black and Michael Guy of SHARK ISLAND, a super band with Tony Franklin, formerly of BLUE MURDER/WHITESNAKE, on bass, and Matt Sorum, formerly of GUNS N’ ROSES, on drums. Contains the only remaining demo from this project, “Calamities Of Vanity.” This is a treasure collection of 16 songs. This is a studio album where you can enjoy the early days of famous bands and projects whose names are only known, with real sounds. Moreover, all of them are of the highest quality ever, and most of them, even the demos, can be included in official albums. This is a semi-official secret record that instantly fills the “hole” in Jake’s career. Summary 1: A demo from 1981 when RATT was with Jake and was called MICKEY RATT. One of Stephen Percy’s recorded recordings 2,3: Two songs recorded from late 1981 to early 1982 when ROUGH CUTT was formed. The keyboardist is Claude Schnell, and the producer is Ronnie James Dayo. Included only on the non-CD compilation LP “LA’s Hottest Unsigned Rock Bands” released in 1983. 4-7: Four demo songs recorded in 1988 after BADLANDS was formed. This is a sound source that has been released before, but this time it is recorded with the highest sound quality ever from a tape owned by the late Ray Gillan. 9: A valuable song that was recorded after the production of the second album “VOODOO HIGHWAY” and included only in the CD single released only in Japan. 8,10: Even more valuable is this song, which was recorded for a commercial for a Japanese regional bank, and was included only on the promo CD single distributed by this bank. 11: An acoustic version was included in the first album, but a similar version was performed live at the time with an electric performance added in the second half. Although it was released under a solo name, it was performed by BADLANDS. 12-15: 4 songs from WICKED ALLIANCE, commonly known as Twisted Beauty Demo, formed with former WWIII members Mandy Lion, Jimmy Bain, and others. This band did not release any official work, and disbanded after performing live shows and recording this demo. 16: Demo of BOURGEOIS PIG, a project with Richard Black of SHARK ISLAND and Michael Guy, formerly of SHARK ISLAND, HOUSE OF LORDS. With Tony Franklin on bass and Matt Sorum on drums, this is the only song left from this project. Ultimate Rare Tracks Compilation (65:53) MICKEY RATT (1981) 1.
