Description

The dream collaboration between Marcus Miller and Jaco Pastorius is recorded for approximately 170 minutes in high-quality audience recording. Some of you may be wondering, “What’s it like to have two bassists?”, but Marcus’s playing style is more of a banging style, while Jaco’s playing style is a gentle one, playing fredless bass with his index and middle fingers. Quite the opposite, it’s self-explanatory. The living areas are clearly separated. I wonder if Marcus, who was selected as a member of Miles Davis’s 1981 comeback tour and was active, invited Jaco, a great fusion bass legend, to join him. Unfortunately, Jaco is at a point where it becomes difficult to see his brilliant play after that. Although the styles are different, I feel like it was a competition in which the baton was passed from Jaco to Marcus of the new era as a superhuman bassist. The drummer was Lenny White, who was in Return to Forever. After this, Marcus and Lenny White, and keyboardist Bernard Wright, who is also participating here, formed the Jamaica Boys, and they played well together here as well.
