Description
With the release of “Word of Mouth” in 1981, Jaco finally embarked on his solo career, and here is one of the few rare live recordings by a big band from a short period of time. This recording was taken from the soundboard of the Montreal International Jazz Festival held in Canada on July 20, 1982, and although it is not complete because it is a broadcast recording, the sound quality is at an official level. In addition, this recording is not with a big band but with a sextet, and unlike the glamorous live performances of big bands, it is impressive to see the sound produced by the dynamism, sharp tension, delicacy, and rich texture of the harmony. This performance has a wide dynamic range that is unique to Jaco, with a dynamism that goes beyond the boundaries of jazz, grandiose yet delicate, crazy yet perfect. 01. The Chicken / 02.
