Description

Celebrating their 45th anniversary since their debut, the band’s performance at Zepp Nagoya on October 21, 2017, following their 2015 Japan tour, is recorded in a 2 hour 21 minute digital audience recording. This is the 4th performance out of the 6 performances, following the 3 consecutive performances at Orchard Hall in Tokyo, and perfectly reproduces the direct and delicate sound that does not feel any distance throughout the entire performance. The set list for the 6 performances only had 7 songs in common, and here in Nagoya, 2/3 of the 22 songs were changed each day, and “Redneck Friend”, which was requested, was only performed here at the Nagoya performance. Another song requested was Allman’s “Melissa”, which begins with “What? Greg’s song? OK. We love him,” and although it was performed on the 2nd day in Tokyo, it is a rare cover that has only been sung a few times on previous stages. The band members are the same as they were in their Japan tour two years ago, and as Jackson calls them the “Dream Band,” they are all top-notch and in perfect harmony. The two guitarists, Greg Leeds and Val McCallum, are particularly amazing, and the combination of Greg, who plays pedal steel, and Val, who plays a Telecaster and Firebird, is excellent. When Val takes an electric solo on “The Long Way Around,” Greg intertwines delicate acoustic backing, and the pedal steel and Firebird exchange thrilling solos on “Looking East” and “Running on Empty” gives you goosebumps. This moving night is here in the best quality. Disc 1 : (Set 1) 1. Intro 2. Some Bridges 3. The Long Way Around 4. The Late Show 5. Looking East 6. These Days 7. Redneck Friend 8. Just Say Yeah 9.
