Description
From the first tour of Japan held in 1980, when the album “Love Stinks” was released, all three consecutive performances in Tokyo were recorded from June 27th to 298th, and all of them were recorded directly from the original master cassette. Since all three performances were recorded with the same equipment, the sound quality is consistent, and the excellent sound quality and content are impressive for an audience recording of that time. The strong band’s performance, Peter Wolf’s vocal performance and showmanship-filled MC are wonderful, and this is the best document that really conveys the greatness of a genuine American live band trained on the long road. In addition, despite the tour being held right after the European tour, they performed powerful live shows every day. The performance at Nakano Sun Plaza on June 27th was their average set, 21 songs, 1 hour 47 minutes, but the amazing thing was the performance at the Koseinenkin Kaikan on the following day, the 28th, which was 2 hours 18 minutes with 25 songs, which was significantly different from their usual set, and they did Serves You Right To Suffer again in the same set, and in the second half, they did encore after encore, just like an American club gig. And the final performance at the Koseinenkin Kaikan on the 29th was a 2 hour 13 minute show with 24 songs. True to the band’s theory “Rock N’ Roll Has No Boundaries. Rock N’ Roll Needs No Passport”, the band responded to 7 or 8 encores, and their performance was so intense that they said, “If we leave them alone, they might play until the morning.” This is a miraculous masterpiece that brings back the performance that makes you think, “This is a live band!”, with Peter Wolf’s wild vocals, Magic Dick’s outstanding blues harp, and J. Geils’ outstanding guitar.
