Description

With the death of leader J. Geils on April 11, 2017, the band effectively closed its doors. This title is a precious early live recording from their long career, including several reunions. It is a nearly complete recording of the live performance at Wegecon, Switzerland on June 24, 1972, from their first European tour, recorded by a good audience master at the time. Although they were still relatively unknown in Europe, the hot content is reminiscent of the famous live album “FULL HOUSE”, with Peter Wolf’s wild vocals and Magic Dick’s free-flowing harmonica, and in addition to the originals, it also features a hot performance with a B-grade R&R color unique to this period, such as John Lee Hooker’s “Serves You Right to Suffer”. 01.
