Description
From the 1982 European tour with the Rolling Stones, two days at Wembley Stadium in London on June 25th and 26th are recorded in high quality audience recording from the original master cassette owned by the recorder, which is not available even among traders. Since it was an opening act, it was a short live performance with only 12 songs, but you can enjoy the legendary hot performance that is said to have greatly excited the large Wembley crowd that came to see the Stones with stable high sound quality. At the performance on the 25th, the familiar opening call was followed by “Just Can’t Stop Me”, but suddenly the power went out at around 1 minute 11 seconds. The performance suddenly stopped, and the audience laughed. The performance started 30 seconds later, but the problem seemed to be unresolved and the performance was interrupted halfway. They tried to resume it somehow, but it didn’t work, and after a long and witty MC by Peter Wolf, they connected the spot with “Peaches Tree”, which featured a solo by Magic Dick, which was probably not originally planned. Peter explains the situation to the audience in a long MC before and after the song, but the trouble is not resolved even after the end of “Peaches Tree”. Then the tape is cut and the recording starts again, and the second opening call of “Once Again London! J. Geils Band!” is followed by “First I Look At The Purse”. From then on, the audience was captivated by the stage of a live band, which made it seem like there was no trouble. The sound image is small, which makes you feel a little distance from the stage, but since the master tape is used, the sound is extremely fresh, and there are no problems with the graininess, positioning, separation, or stability of the sound. The powerful performance, which has been trained as a live band, is wonderful, and you can experience a great excitement in every song. Unlike the previous day, the performance on the 26th was a trouble-free and excellent performance, and you can enjoy a performance full of a sense of speed that literally runs through the 50 minutes of the performance. Furthermore, the sound quality was recorded even better than the previous day, and you can enjoy a live performance with a high-quality and tight sound of the highest level (especially the drum sound is wonderful). This was a live performance at a time when they were in high spirits, releasing the smash hit album “Freeze Frame” the previous year and the single “Centerfold” recording No. 1 on the US hit charts for six consecutive weeks. This is a valuable record of the London Wembley performance, where they participated as guests of the Stones, and is a title that fans cannot miss.
