Description
The final part of the popular “THE EARLIEST DAYS” series is here! We have been sending you valuable sound sources with the theme of the very early days before the release of the debut work “Maiden of Steel”, but this time, in addition to the two undercard performances of JUDAS PRIEST’s “BRITISH STEEL TOUR 1980”, the newly confirmed 1979 This is the first three-disc set in the series, including one performance. Disc 1 that appears first is the audience recording of the sudden highlight “Music Machine Performance on September 30, 1979”, the era of the phantom initial members Doug Saumpson & Tony Parsons. In the first series, we introduced two live shows in 1979, but this is the third master in 1979. In fact, the records of the very early IRON MAIDEN are often vague and have confused collectors. Until now, there have been rumors of recordings such as “December 31, 1978,” “October 10, 1979,” “February 10, March 14, and March 16, 1980,” but the dates were incorrect. Or disappear naturally… The existence of this recording was also rumored, but in recent years, collectors have become aware of this new discovery. Although it is shorter than the first two performances in the series, the sound is amazing! Recorded in 1979, it was the undisputed number one sound, far exceeding the first two performances. Speaking of the Saampson & Parsons era, “BBC RADIO ONE” has been officially discovered, but that is just a studio live. Although it is short, it is the best recording where you can listen to plenty of “Wrathchild”, “Prowler”, “Remember Tomorrow”, “Invasion”, “Charlotte The Harlot” and “Phantom Of The Opera” which cannot be heard on the BBC. The following discs 2 and 3 are two performances as support for JUDAS PRIEST’s “BRITISH STEEL TOUR 1980” after being replaced by Clive Burr & Dennis Stratton. Roughly organizing the timeline… December 1979: Clive & Dennis joins January 1980: Production of “Maiden of Steel” February 1980: “METAL FOR MUTHAS” tour – March 1980 :Support for “BRITISH STEEL TOUR 1980” ・April 1980: “Steel no Maiden” released & major tour started…The flow went like this. In the second series, we sent a live performance of “METAL FOR MUTHAS TOUR”, but discs 2 and 3 of this work were released in March. While creating his historic debut work “Main of Steel”, only the single “RUNNING FREE” has been released to the general public. You can enjoy IRON MAIDEN, which is filled with the spirit of “It’s finally time to hit the ball!” First of all, Disc 2 is “March 13, 1980 Leicester Performance”. JUDAS PRIEST supported a total of 19 performances, and this work is the 7th performance. The sound is something that should be listened to as a “valuable sound source”, and it is not good enough for the entire series. Honestly, this is one for the collection, as the set is short for support purposes. However, the tension of the up-and-coming MAIDEN, who watched JUDAS PRIEST up close every night when they announced their “God of Steel Declaration” to the whole world, was intense, and it was clear that even in the solidified sound image, their freshness was erupting with force. Disc 3, which concludes the series, is “March 15, 1980 London Performance” two days later. Although it is a support, it is a record of MAIDEN who finally stepped on the stage of the famous traditional venue “Hammersmith Odeon”. This is a wonderful audience recording, and it is incomparably better than Disc 2. Although it has a vintage feel, the musical tone is vivid, and it is vacuum-packed with a sound that clearly conveys the enthusiastic performance at a traditional venue. The content of the live show was also great, and since it was the night before the release of their debut album, they were getting used to their playing. We first learned of IRON MAIDEN’s live performance through the B-side of the single “SANCTUARY” and “LIVE!! +ONE,” but that world has already been created, and the 9 songs (approximately 50 minutes) retain that dazzling heat. Running through… Even if you’re listening to it for the first time, it’s a song that will leave you feeling intensely nostalgic. One month after this live performance, the famous album “Maiden of Steel” shocked the whole world, and the legend finally began. This is the end of the “THE EARLIEST DAYS” series, which has written the best version of all audience recordings of that shocking debut “before”. Like Disc 1 of this work, there is no plan for “VOL.4” until new excavations and confirmations are made. Starting from the time when he decided to become a semi-professional band from a local weekend band, to the eve of “Maiden of Steel” making a name for himself all over the world. The entire journey of the Steel Revolutionary Child, which has been passed down to the present day. This is a gift to all the enthusiasts who love them and have accompanied them all their lives.
