The long-awaited “THE BOOK OF SOULS WORLD TOUR” has entered its final leg. Our shop has been touring the world with MAIDEN since the beginning of the tour with live albums, but that is finally the final chapter. This work is the first latest report from the final “North American leg”, the audience album of “Philadelphia performance on June 4, 2017”. First of all, let’s take a bird’s-eye view of the world tour as usual. [First half: 2016 part] ・February 24th-April 16th: North America #1/South America (27 performances) ・April 20th-May 14th: Asia/Oceania (11 performances) ・May 18th + 21st: South Africa (2 performances) ・May 27th-August 4th: Europe #1 (32 performances) [Second half: 2017 part] ・April 22nd-May 28th: Europe #2 (19 performances in the UK) ・June 3rd-July 22nd: North America #3 (26 performances) ←★Here★ A total of 117 performances. MAIDEN always has the image of a large-scale tour, but even so, it is huge. This number of performances is the largest scale since Bruce Dickinson & Adrian Smith returned. Since it is a good opportunity, let’s introduce the top 10 performances of the past tours here. 1st: WORLD SLAVERY TOUR 84-85 (189 performances) 2nd: THE BEAST ON THE ROAD 82 (187 performances) 3rd: SOMEWHERE ON TOUR 86-87 (155 performances) 4th: WORLD PIECE TOUR 83 (147 performances) 5th: KILLER WORLD TOUR 81 (130 performances) 5th: THE X FACTOUR 95-96 (130 performances) ★7th: THE BOOK OF SOULS TOUR 16-17 (117 performances) 8th: FEAR OF THE DARK/REAL LIVE TOUR 92-93 (112 performances) 9th: NO PRAYER ON THE ROAD 90-91 (110 performances) 10th: IRON MAIDEN TOUR 80 (103 performances) …and so on. There have been 21 tours so far, and this is the 7th. Even if you add up the two separate tours “FEAR OF THE DARK 1992 / REAL LIVE TOUR 1993”, it doesn’t reach this, and you can understand that it was a major world tour comparable to the 1980s, when the youth of the 20s exploded. It’s a long digression, but the Philadelphia performance of this work is the second performance of the final chapter “North America # 2”. It’s a show that’s just about to make the final sprint! The quality is a wonderful audience sound. We have delivered the best sound sources from all over the world, but it is one of the best. The sound of the bass drum can be seen as an audience recording, but the clarity of the guitar and bass that unfold on it is as beautiful as a line recording. What’s even more wonderful is the vocals, and the singing voice that reaches like a laser beam that penetrates everything really has a direct feeling like a line recording. In addition, the cheers in this work are also wonderful. I don’t know the exact recording position, but the Wells Fargo Center, which was the scene, is an indoor stadium that can accommodate about 20,000 people, but the huge swell is far away. There are no cheers or cheers up close, and they surge from afar on a huge scale like ripples in the ocean. For example, the intro to “The Red And The Black”. The bass solo roars in the silence, and although the cheers can be heard from afar, Nico’s counting voice is much louder than them. Direct performance and spectacular cheers. It is a live album that produces a show with a balance like an official album. IRON MAIDEN is unusually energetic in recent years. Steve Harris, who turned 61, said, “We’re doing good these days. I can’t imagine retiring,” and this is a powerful live album that proves those words with his ability. The other day, I wrote “This is the representative recording of Europe,” but a masterpiece that surpasses it came out right after, so this time I will not say “the representative recording of America.” But in truth, I’m itching to say that it’s a great recording. Good sound, good songs, good performances… it’s a record that has it all. Please enjoy! Live at Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, PA. USA 4th June 2017 PERFECT SOUND Disc 1 (55:25) 1. Intro Film 2.
