Description
“SOMEWHERE ON TOUR 1986/1987” is the most popular of the Golden Age. The world’s first public original recording that conveys the scene is now available. For Maiden in the 80s, “SOMEWHERE ON TOUR” was the highlight of the show. Although the band has a fairly advanced official archive, “WORLD PIECE TOUR” and “SOMEWHERE ON TOUR” do not have official full live works. If you give up on the full “WORLD PIECE TOUR” there is also a pro shot of the Dortmund performance, but “SOMEWHERE ON TOUR” has no such partial and no official records are left. What’s more, there are many “rare songs exclusive to this tour,” and the worldview modeled after the movie “Blade Runner” is unique. This is a tour of an unexplored region that tickles the collector’s heart in every sense of the word. If the official team is unable to do so, it’s the underground’s turn. MAIDEN enthusiasts from all over the world have gathered together to collect sound sources and search for the best recordings of the tour. This work is a shocking work in which the world’s first appearance master, who no one has ever heard, suddenly attacks the highest peak race. It is the best audience recording of “January 13, 1987 Philadelphia Performance”! First, let’s check the show’s position from the schedule at that time. 1986, September 10th – 25th: Eastern Europe (12 performances) [“Somewhere in Time” released on September 29th], October 3rd – November 9th: UK (27 performances), November 12th Sunday – December 18th: Europe (27 performances) 1987, January 7th – May 2nd: North America (79 performances) ←★Here★, May 11th – 21st: Japan (7 performances) This is “ Overall picture of “SOMEWHERE ON TOUR”. Roughly speaking, it is “1986 = Europe” and “1987 = Others”, and the Philadelphia performance of this work was a concert corresponding to the 6th performance of the “North American” leg at the beginning of the second half. This work is a live album that records such a show and is said to be released for the first time in the world. This show is also famous for being the only multi-camera pro shot left in “SOMEWHERE ON TOUR”, but since this work is an audience recording, it is naturally a completely different sound source. However, what cannot be taken for granted is the quality, which is as good as the sound board sound of a professional shot…or should I say, it is better! What’s surprising is the on and strong core. It approaches right in front of you without any sense of distance, and along with that, the details are also detailed. In fact, it was the Japanese who made this recording a reality. At our store, we are a master among the masters who have worked on many press works for performances in Japan, and this was digitized directly from the master recorded on-site when this person went to the United States in the 1980s. Therefore, in addition to the close contact, the freshness is amazing. The spectacle and sense of stability that could not be experienced with a sound board is also tremendous. In the first place, even though the professional shot audio is a sound board, it is monaural and there are some cracks of master deterioration. Moreover, it was a big penalty that noise was included in the extremely rare and most important song “Caught Somewhere in Time”. However, this work is seamlessly beautiful while being close to the sound board and having a superb feeling. Of course, since it is a period-style cassette recording, there are tape changes, but that is compensated for by the sound board sound generation, so you can fully experience the full show (except for the part waiting for the encore). What is depicted with such a sound is a full show of “SOMEWHERE ON TOUR” that mania continues to pursue. Unlike Pro Shot, it includes all songs, but at the same time, it also includes repertoire that cannot be heard in official live works such as “Resurrection of the Dead” and “MAIDEN ENGLAND”. Let’s organize them all together. Diano era (3 songs) / Iron Maiden (◆) / Running Free Dickinson era (10 songs) / Children of the Damned (★) / Hallowed Be Thy Name (◆) /The Number of the Beast/Run to the Hills ・Powerslave: 2 Minutes to Midnight/Rime of the Ancient Mariner ・Somewhere in Time: Caught Somewhere in Time (★) /Stranger in a Strange Land (★) /Wasted Years/Heaven Can Wait *Note: Songs marked with “★” cannot be heard on “Resurrection of the Dead” and “MAIDEN ENGLAND”. Songs marked with “◆” were cut in the pro shot on the same day. …and it looks like this. You can experience for the first time two songs that are not in the pro shot, but the highlight is probably the famous songs of “SOMEWHERE IN TIME”. Two songs in particular, “Caught Somewhere in Time” and “Stranger in a Strange Land,” are extremely rare. Even so, “Stranger in a Strange Land” was briefly reprinted on “ED HUNTER TOUR” (you can enjoy it on “STRANGER IN NYC 1999”), but “Caught Somewhere in Time” was only played on this tour. Never been. Now that “Aces High” and “Moonchild” have been reissued, this is a legendary song that is most sought after by fans but has no hope of making a comeback. You can experience it with bare feet on the sound board. “SOMEWHERE ON TOUR 1986/1987” is extremely popular in the entire history of Maiden. This is a hidden treasure that was recorded by a master Japanese recorder at the scene. It’s strange that it hasn’t been released until now… or should I say, this is a shocking new excavation master that will jump to the extreme right of “Tour No. 1” at the same time as this work.
