Description
It is said to be the best masterpiece in RON MAIDEN’s history, but the big name edition has been greatly increased and will be in stock urgently! The masterpiece is the superlative soundboard album of “March 20, 1982 Hammersmith Performance”. Yes, that official masterpiece “BEAST OVER HAMMERSMITH”. IRON MAIDEN is packed with many masterpiece soundboards, both official and unofficial. In general, “LIVE AFTER DEATH” and “MAIDEN ENGLAND” are famous as the pinnacle, but it is “BEAST OVER HAMMERSMITH” that has received rave reviews from enthusiasts. However, despite its transcendental content, this album was only released in the box “EDDIE’S ARCHIVES” in 2002. Of course, the rare official box sold out in an instant, and there has been no reissue for 17 years. Nowadays, even used items are traded at premium prices, making them a hidden treasure of the 21st century. This work includes not only “BEAST OVER HAMMERSMITH” but also “August 28, 1982 Reading Performance”. It is a two-disc set coupled with the highest peak soundboard of the legendary “THE BEAST ON THE ROAD 1982”. Now, let’s introduce each of the two performances individually. [Disc 1-2: Hammersmith performance on March 20, 1982] The first thing that appears is the entirety of the masterpiece “BEAST OVER HAMMERSMITH”. This is an official stereo sound board sound source with no questions asked. Professional shots were also taken on this day, and it was originally supposed to be released as an official video work. However, the dark lighting became a problem and it was shelved. Although it can now be seen on the official DVD “THE EARLY DAYS”, only nine songs, about half of the show, are included. “BEAST OVER HAMMERSMITH” is a live album that conveys the entire view of such a show (strictly speaking, the drum solo is cut). The content is truly a masterpiece. The quality is of course perfect as official, and the dark lighting that caused it to be shelved at the time has nothing to do with the live album. You can enjoy the wonderful “THE BEAST ON THE ROAD” on the ultimate sound board. And that show is the reason why it is a masterpiece. Clive Burr’s drumming, which is wilder and groovier than Nico McBrain, is also a huge hit, but even more so is young Bruce Dickinson’s singing! Anyway, it’s a beast. Although “LIVE AFTER DEATH” is larger in terms of the scale of the show, the vocalization is overwhelmingly this work. In “LIVE AFTER DEATH” and “MAIDEN ENGLAND”, it is frustrating that the treble does not reach its full potential, but in this work, it continues to grow comfortably. Dickinson’s high notes have recovered since the 1990s, but the singing voice in this work is different. He screams with all his might, without worrying about fine control or taste, and howls as if he’s testing how far he can go. He pushes and pushes with superhuman behavior just like the SAMSON era. Just listening to the blues versions of “Murders In The Rue Morgue,” “Another Life,” “22 Acacia Avenue,” “Total Eclipse,” and “Drifter” is too delicious, but the performance that runs through the whole story is even better. The huge spectacles “LIVE AFTER DEATH” and “MAIDEN ENGLAND” are masterpieces as video works, but that has nothing to do with the audio-only live album. And that’s exactly what makes this work so great. You can enjoy a live performance at the peak of what maniacs around the world call “the best live album”. Another important point is disc separation. The official edition “BEAST OVER HAMMERSMITH” was divided equally into nine songs, but in this work the disc distribution has been changed in order to record the Reading performance (described later). Tasashi is not being changed blindly. Disc 1 contains the entire main set from the opening to “Iron Maiden”, and disc 2 contains the encore part. In other words, the replacement of the disc is synchronized with the on-site encore waiting, and you can listen through it with the same feeling as the show on the day. [Disc 2: Reading Festival performance on August 28, 1982] The Reading Festival performance 5 months later is recorded following such an ultimate live album. In order to know the positional relationship between the two performances, let’s take a look at the entire world tour here. ・February 25th – March 20th: UK #1 (20 performances) ←★Hammersmith performance★《”THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST” released on March 22nd》・March 22nd – May 1st: Europe (35 performances) ・May 11th – August 22nd: North America #1 (72 performances) ・August 25th – 28th: UK #2 (3 performances) ←★Reading performance★ ・September 1st – 10th November 23rd: North America #2 (38 performances) November 7th – 21st: Australia (10 performances) November 26th – December 10th: Japan (10 performances) This is “THE BEAST ON THE ROAD” Big picture. The main Hammersmith performance was “UK #1” before the release of “THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST”, while the Reading performance was “UK #2”. At the time, they were in the middle of a North American tour, but they were chosen to perform at a famous festival in their home country, so they forced their dates. MAIDEN always cherishes their home country of England, and this show was a crystallization of their love for their home country. The Reading show will be broadcast on FM by the BBC. Since then, we have created a classic soundboard. What is included in this work is the official version, which is the highest peak. Like “BEAST OVER HAMMERSMITH”, it is the official stereo soundboard of “BBC ARCHIVES”, which was released exclusively in the box “EDDIE’S ARCHIVES”. Of course, the quality is completely official. IRON MAIDEN shows off the quality of the masterpiece even in excavated sound sources, but its power explodes. Although it is a BBC recording, it is 11 songs (including guitar solo), but all existing songs are recorded in the ultimate official quality. Since IRON MAIDEN is full of masterpieces, it is difficult to decide which is the best studio album, but the most likely candidate is “THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST”. After all, this famous album was selected as the “best British album of the past 60 years (1950-2012)” in a public vote conducted by HMV (by the way, this vote was not limited to metal, but all genres. The Beatles, Stones, It’s number 1, ahead of QUEEN. I think you can understand how intensely loved it is in its home country of England. This work is the culmination of the only tour “THE BEAST ON THE ROAD” by the five people who created such a symbolic work, and is an ultra-superior stereo sound board that contains a passionate British performance unlike any other. It is exactly the stage version of “THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST” and is the best masterpiece of the live album. Although it is such a masterpiece, it is a masterpiece that is facing the trouble of going out of print. Hammersmith Odeon, London, England 20th March 1982 STEREO SBD(UPGRADE) Disc 1 (73:07) 1.
