As mentioned in the previous commentary, the concert-spec “London Stadium” boasts a staggering capacity of approximately 80,000 people, roughly 1.5 times the capacity of the Tokyo Dome, which has a capacity of 55,000. While IRON MAIDEN has headlined numerous mega-festivals, this was their largest solo performance to date, drawing crowds under their own banner. It wasn’t just a crowded scene; all 80,000 people flocked to see IRON MAIDEN. This work is also a masterpiece, a blessing in disguise. The shooting position was in the stands on the right side of the stage (Janick Gers side), with a view down to the hustle and bustle of the arena. Up until that point, everything was fine, but the (big) problem was the PA system hanging right in front of me. Because the PA system was hanging from above, it didn’t cause any problems looking directly at the stage below, but it completely obstructed my view of the stage on the giant screen that followed. I couldn’t see the much-talked-about visual effects. Normally, I’d give up on filming from these seats, but the cameraman for this film was different. Instead of giving up on the giant screen behind me, he started filming on the monitors beside the stage. And what I saw there was a multi-camera professional shot! I got plenty of powerful footage, even close-ups of each member’s facial expressions! The sound was also top-notch, depicting the 50th anniversary’s super-rich greatest hits. Once the flaws in the view were resolved, the benefits of the position suddenly came into play. That was the audio, with a very direct feel. As mentioned above, the PA system was hanging in front of the cameraman, emitting a very thick sound toward me. Moreover, because the “London Stadium” is wide open to the sky, there is almost no echo, and you can directly enjoy the sound that reaches you without any obstructions. Such beautiful images depict a full show in their hometown of London, which is one of the largest in MAIDEN’s history. The PA covering Eddie’s face is a real distraction. Therefore, this film replaces these two songs with different footage. It’s been designed to allow viewers to fully appreciate Eddie, who is bigger than Ultraman, without any obstructions. For purely mega-screen spectacle, “COMPLETE BUDAPEST 2025” remains the best, but for a truly powerful live performance, this is the best.
