Description

The hidden area of the IRON MAIDEN collection, “NO PRAYER ON THE ROAD 1990-1991”. The best recording is now available with the highest quality sound. This tour was truly a demon’s gate. IRON MAIDEN is a band with an advanced official archive, so most tours can be enjoyed with official works, but there are exceptions. This was the most prominent one. First of all, to help you understand the situation, let’s organize the first Bruce Dickinson era in three stages. ●A: Tour with official full live works, THE BEAST ON THE ROAD, WORLD SLAVERY TOUR, SEVENTH TOUR OF A SEVENTH TOUR, FEAR OF THE DARK / REAL LIVE TOUR ●B: Tour with full soundboard, SOMEWHERE ON TOUR ●C: Tour with only incomplete soundboard, WORLD PIECE TOUR, NO PRAYER ON THE ROAD … and so on. “A” is the basic, so I will omit it, and the problem is “B” and “C”. “SOMEWHERE ON TOUR” is “B” because there is a professional shot of the Paris performance, but the sound quality is not so good. After all, these three tours can only be enjoyed in full if they are recorded by the audience. Even so, “SOMEWHERE ON TOUR” and “WORLD PIECE TOUR” produced a large number of audience albums with super powerful sounds. Our shop has delivered superb products such as “EAGLE’S NEST”, “EAGLE’S HAMMERSMITH”, as well as “CAUGHT SOMEWHERE IN LEICESTER”, “CAUGHT SOMEWHERE IN CHICAGO”, “CAUGHT SOMEWHERE IN MILWAUKEE” and “CAUGHT SOMEWHERE IN CHICAGO”. However, “NO PRAYER ON THE ROAD” was… well, there was nothing. [The best recording of the tour No. 1] This work is the end of that long history. It is an audience album of “October 30, 1990: Paris performance”. This recording was known at the time. More than 25 years have passed since this tour, and now, more than 140 recordings (including different generations) have been confirmed, but it is still a great recording that continues to reign as “Tour No. 1”. Until now, the masterpieces “SHRAPNEL” and “DEFINITIVE YEARS IV (part)” have been loved, but this work has obtained the original master. It is a masterpiece that has been digitized again. The sound is wonderful to update “Tour No. 1”. For example, “SHRAPNEL” was also a famous live album, but the finish was rough, typical of the early 1990s. The pitch was unstable and at its worst, it was 50% out of sync, the seamless performance of “No Prayer For The Dying / Hooks In You” was cut into discs, and the sound was clogged with mid-to-high ranges and no spread… Despite these shortcomings, it was a great recording that reigned as the “Tour No. 1”, but this work has no such shortcomings at all. The more natural “sound” and rich stereo feeling are the best ever. In fact, it is too raw to call it “like a sound board”, but the musical tones that suppress it are strong and sturdy, and the sound is thick. The twin harmony is beautiful, and the crisp bass comes right in front of you with a tactile sensation. [Rare song, great revival of blues & trouble] The full show of “NO PRAYER ON THE ROAD” depicted with that sound is not only valuable but also amazing! There are three points. The first is the repertoire of the new work “NO PRAYER FOR THE DYING”. It was a modest work for IRON MAIDEN, which is full of masterpieces, but that is why it is not performed much on later tours. “Tailgunner” was only performed in 1992-1993, and “Bring Your Daughter… To The Slaughter” was only performed in 1992-1993 + 2003. The other four songs were only performed on this tour. In particular, “The Assassin” and “Hooks in You” were dropped from the North American leg and are only available in Europe and Japan. The second is the performance itself that shows off such a set. First, there is the new member Janick Gers. At the time, his wildness was shocking, but listening to it now with my ears that know the six-person lineup, it’s not just wild. He incorporates a lot of playfulness with his unique arm movements, but he also does it surprisingly carefully. The third is Bruce Dickinson, who made a great comeback. Until 1988, he became increasingly rough and his high notes were clogged and he couldn’t sing them. However, here he made a big comeback! Moreover, his singing style is different from the delicate one he sings now, and he is still youthful and thoroughly powerful. Although he is wild, his high notes also stretch out comfortably, and he shows off his amazing vocalization that is just like “THE BEAST ON THE ROAD” and “WORLD PIECE TOUR”. Especially overwhelming is “Run To The Hills”. Far from being tired despite the encore, the high notes that stretch out strangely are thick and cool. To be honest, it is a difficult song that was not 100% successful, not only on this tour, but even on the peak “WORLD PIECE TOUR”, but here it is a perfect 100. It will let you hear a singing that is comparable to “EAGLE’S HAMMERSMITH”, which is whispered to the world’s core maniacs as “the best show in the history of MAIDEN”. This work also has a rare trouble scene. That is “Die With Your Boots On”. It seems that there was a drunk and noisy audience at the scene, and Bruce, who found it, stopped singing and called security. Bruce is shouting something without singing even after the guitar solo. There is an atmosphere of “Is this a break!?”, but after the song ends, he calls attention in French. I’m sorry that I don’t understand French, but the content seems to be extremely professional, and the whole venue gives a huge ovation. Rare songs, superb performances, professional blues, great sound… This is the “secret world of MAIDEN history” that only enthusiasts can know, not just fans. It is a masterpiece among masterpieces that core enthusiasts continue to declare as “tour No. 1” and “best recording”. This work is the highest peak upgrade version of that famous recording. There is no “NO PRAYER ON THE ROAD 1990-1991” album better than this one. If you want to permanently preserve the full show of the entire tour with a peak record, or if you want to touch the unknown “secret world of MAIDEN”. Sorry to keep you waiting.
