Description

The rare sound sources included in this work can be roughly divided into three sections. There are many interesting tracks with their own stories as to why they were not included in the main CD. Let’s introduce them individually. Single recording version (2 songs) Man On The Edge (Single Version) / Virus (Edit Version) The first section is a different version that was included in the official single. The opening “Man On The Edge (Single Version)” is already super detailed! Since there was no credit, even those who already own the single probably wouldn’t have noticed that it was a different version, but even if you listen to it after knowing what it is, you probably won’t know what is different. The performance and mix are exactly the same as the album, but the difference is that Nico speaks a word after the performance is over. Moreover, this is at a very low volume, and even at full volume, you can’t understand what he is saying. It’s funny that it’s so subtle, but if it was included in the main CD, it could be mistaken as a mistake. The replacement “Virus (Edit Version)” is a musical masterpiece. This is an edited version that cuts out the quiet part at the beginning and starts suddenly with the exciting part in the second half. There is no exhilarating feeling of building up and then exploding! However, both songs are simply fast. This is a masterpiece edit that many fans have said “the edit version is better” since the time. Extremely rare promo CD “AN INTRODUCTION TO…” (3 songs) – Futureal (Unmastered Version) / The Angel And The Gambler (Edit Version) / Lightning Strikes Twice (Unmastered Version) The next section is the highlight of this work. This is a complete reprint of the extremely rare promo CD “AN INTRODUCTION TO… VIRTUAL XI (VIRTCDXI 001)”. As the title suggests, this is a promotional promo CD for “VIRTUAL XI” that contains the first three songs of the album. However, all three songs are different versions from the album. That’s why collectors have been flocking to it since then, and it has been traded for five figures to this day. It is truly the most difficult and rare item in the Blades era. You would think that it would be released on CD because it is so rare, but in fact, the contents are quite subtle despite the rarity of the CD. The three songs included are called “Unmastered Versions,” but “The Angel and the Gambler” is exactly the same as the edited version that was included on the regular single. What’s more problematic (?) are “Futureal” and “Lightning Strikes Twice.” I wondered what was “Unmastered,” but it turns out that there is only Nico’s count at the beginning of the song. Moreover, “Lightning Strikes Twice” can only be heard at full volume, so it is not something to keep forever. I spent an hour wondering why they decided to release such a subtle difference in version (abbreviation) nOfficial live FM broadcast version (9 songs) Man on the Edge / Wrathchild / Heaven Can Wait / Lord of the Files / Afarid to Shoot Strangers / The Evil That Men Do / The Aftermath / Sign of the Cross / Iron Maiden The last song on this album is a live performance that will get you excited when you listen to it. It is a stereo soundboard recording of the “November 1, 1995 Gothenburg performance”. As you may have already noticed, this is the same live performance that was released in pieces as an official single. This work is an FM broadcast version that is different from the official single. The image is quite different due to the rough broadcast mix, but what is more important is the five songs that were not made official: “Wrathchild”, “Heaven Can Wait”, “Lord of the Files”, “Sign of the Cross”, “Iron Maiden”. You can also enjoy “Maiden”. Of course, strictly speaking, it’s not an official track, but in terms of content, it can be said to be an “official outtake”. This work contains the entire broadcast. 14 songs, 73 minutes and 33 seconds. A cooler edit version than the original take on the album, a different version that is so detailed it’s laughable, and a soundboard live with plenty of songs that you can’t hear officially… It’s a deep treasure collection. Following the Di’ano/Dickinson era, this is the ultimate rare compilation series that can be completed up to the Blaze era. (73:33) SINGLE VERSIONS 1.
