Description

The “ULTIMATE TRACKS” series is a huge hit, an official compilation of rare sound sources. The final “live sound source collection” will be released simultaneously in two titles! Our “ULTIMATE TRACKS” series is literally the “ultimate official rare track collection” and has been highly praised by enthusiasts around the world. We have introduced three titles so far, but the only one left was the “live track from the Bruce Dickinson era”. These two titles will complete the final collection. Here, let’s take a quick look at the series overview. Diano era “ULTIMATE RARE TRACKS: PAUL DI’ANNO YEARS” (studio & live) Blues era “ULTIMATE STUDIO WORKS” “ULTIMATE LIVE TRACKS 1981-1993” ← ★ this work ★ “ULTIMATE LIVE TRACKS 1999-2023” Blaze era “ULTIMATE RARE TRACKS: BLAZE BAYLEY YEARS” (studio & live) … and so on. The Diano and Blaze editions were “studio + live” sets, but the Blues era was long, so there were a huge number of rare tracks. It was not possible to set up live takes. The two titles this time are such “final nails”. In particular, this work is a 4-disc set of the first part that features the golden age before Blues left the band. Of course, when it comes to live performances from the Blues era, there are many long works left, from “LIVE AFTER DEATH” to “NIGHTS OF THE DEAD”. This work omits such long individual works. It completes the tracks that cannot be heard on those, that is, the tracks that were scattered on various singles and compilations. So, what kind of treasure tracks are included in this work? Let’s introduce them by section. [DISC 1: 1981 / 1982] 1981: Warm-up tour immediately after joining (1 song) DISC 1 is from Bruce joining the band to Clive Barr’s departure. The first song to appear is “Remember Tomorrow”, Bruce’s first live take. Bruce joined in 1981, and his first job was the last Italian performance of the “KILLERS TOUR” which also served as a warm-up (you can enjoy the whole picture on our masterpiece “KILLER GIG WITH DICKINSON”). This “Remember Tomorrow” was recorded at the “Padua performance on October 29, 1981” at that time. However, according to one theory, Bruce overdubbed the backing of “MAIDEN JAPAN”. 1982: Reading Festival (10 songs) After that, they released the masterpiece “THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST” and swept the world. The highlight of that event, the “Reading Festival”, was broadcast on the BBC and made official in the compilation album “BBC ARCHIVES”. We have reprinted the official tracks that were out of print more than 20 years ago. [DISC 2: 1983-1985] 1983: ROCK POP Festival (9 songs) DISC 2 is “Brain Reform” and “Power Slave Era”. The opening is the “ROCK POP FESTIVAL” held in Dortmund. The footage of this festival has been used in various official works, and this work covers them all in one go. First, “The Number Of The Beast” from the single “Aces High”. This festival was held for two days, and this take was the first day (December 17th) which is different from the others. The remaining take is the second day (December 18th). Seven of the songs are from the official compilation DVD “THE EARLY DAYS”. The last “Iron Maiden” was also on “December 18th”, but it was cut from the TV broadcast because the Eddie murder scene was too cruel. It was not included in “THE EARLY DAYS” produced from the TV broadcast version. However, it was featured in the official history video “12 WASTED YEARS” as it was a historic performance. The official soundboard is included in this work. 1984/1985: “WORLD SLAVERY TOUR” (5 songs) Next is the “WORLD SLAVERY TOUR” in its prime. We have covered the official tracks that cannot be heard in “Resurrection of the Dead”. The breakdown is “Hammersmith Odeon performance = 4 songs” and “Long Beach performance = 1 song”. First, the four Hammersmith songs. The two songs “Murders In The Rue Morgue” and “Losfer Words (Big ‘Orra)” are single B-side takes, and “Hallowed Be Thy Name” and “Run To The Hills” are takes from the official video “Behind the Iron Curtain”. In particular, “Losfer Words (Big ‘Orra)” is a delicious song that cannot be heard on a long soundboard. This is something to be careful about. “Behind the Iron Curtain” is also included as a bonus in the DVD version of “Resurrection of the Dead”, but the live audio used in the video version and the DVD version is actually different. The current DVD version is “Polish video + Polish audio”, but the video version at that time was “Polish video + Hammersmith audio”. This work reproduces the original video version of the Hammersmith performance soundboard, which is currently unavailable. *Note: There is also a TV broadcast version of “Behind the Iron Curtain” at that time, which is Hammersmith audio and has four more songs than the video version. The broadcast is not included in this work because it is not an official work, but you can enjoy it in our “ORIGINAL MTV VERSION (Shades 2037)” (Note that the Polish audio and ROCK IN RIO are part of “Resurrection of the Dead (DVD version)”, so they are not included in this work). And the last of DISC 2 is “Sanctuary” from the Long Beach performance. This is the B-side version of the single, and it is actually a “March 17” take that is different from the album / DVD of “Resurrection of the Dead”. It is a surprising different version that many collectors overlook. [DISC 3: 1988] 1988: MONSTERS OF ROCK Festival (11 songs) The third disc is the “MONSTERS OF ROCK” edition held in the holy land of Donington. It is a compilation of 8 songs recorded in “BBC ARCHIVES” and 3 songs recorded in the single, and the sound is also unified. You can enjoy all 11 official songs at once. [DISC 4: 1990-1993] 1990: “NO PRAYER ON THE ROAD” (6 songs) The last DISC 4 is from the 90s when Adrian Smith was replaced by Janick Gers. The best part is the live performances from the “NO PRAYER FOR THE DYING” era scattered on the B-side of the singles, especially “Holy Smoke”, “The Assassin”, “No Prayer For The Dying”, “Public Enema Number One” and “Hooks In You” are rare songs that can’t be heard on long live albums. 1992/1993: “FEAR OF THE DARK/REAL LIVE TOUR” (2 songs) During the “FEAR OF THE DARK” era just before Bruce left the band, live works such as “A REAL LIVE DEAD ONE”, “LIVE AT DONINGTON” and “RAISING HELL” were released one after another, and the singles were almost all long works and takes. However, the two exceptions were “Wasted Years” and “Wrathchild”. In particular, “Wasted Years” is the only soundboard take from the Bruce & Yannick era. This is a collection of 44 songs and about 3 hours and 50 minutes of treasures. Combined with the second part “1999-2023 (Shades 2076)” released at the same time, it is a masterpiece of about 5 hours and 48 minutes. You can get all the official live performances that were missed in the long single works. The big project to complete the official rare tracks of the hero IRON MAIDEN is also completed with these two titles. The live edition of the official rare track collection “ULTIMATE TRACKS” series. It is a 4-disc set that collects valuable tracks that cannot be heard in long live works, and completes the collection from Dickinson’s joining (1981) to his departure (1993). Together with “ULTIMATE STUDIO WORKS” and “ULTIMATE LIVE TRACKS 1999-2023”, these three works complete the official rare tracks from the Dickinson era.
