Description
This FM broadcast edition features a high-quality stereo soundboard recording of the New York performance from the “North American Tour 1987”! The live performance on Bay Street in New York on April 1, 1987, from the “North American Tour 1987,” which took place after the release of their eighth album, “Blah, Blah, Blah,” was recorded as a high-quality stereo audience recording on the same label’s previously released “Down on the Bay Street.” This edition, however, utilizes a high-quality stereo soundboard recording from the WLIR-FM FM broadcast source. The recording utilizes a noise-free, well-preserved air check source, resulting in impeccable clarity in both mix and balance. Additionally, three tracks were omitted from the FM broadcast: “Search & Destroy,” “Raw Power,” and “Down on the Street.” These three tracks are supplemented for this edition with a stereo audience recording. This live performance, held about three weeks before their second Japan tour, opened with a barrage of Stooges numbers, including “Real Wild Child (Wild One),” which reached number 10 in the UK singles chart, as well as songs from their seventh studio album, “Blah Blah Blah,” released about six months later. Featuring Seamus Begen’s keyboards that seem to fly through the air, the album features a fast-paced arrangement and tight performances, all with impressive, high-quality sound.
