Description
A huge turnout gathered for Herbie Hancock’s concert to celebrate his 70th birthday. Although this day is not my birthday, it is a concert to celebrate my 70th birthday. The first set on Disc 1 is a standard jazz setlist by the “Jazz” members. Miles Davis disciples such as allies Wayne Shorter, Ron Carter, Dave Holland, and Jack DeJohnette are gathering. The second set on disc 2 features rock and pop songs such as Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi. The set includes electric jazz and songs interspersed. There are also glimpses of Bob Marley’s Exodus. The drummer for this set is Vinnie Colaiuta, who was also active as a backup for Frank Zappa and Sting. Good audience recording.
