Description

A spectacular live performance recorded from a sound board sound source leaked by a person involved in a live performance led by the early Headhunters held in Detroit in the middle of winter in 1973. This is a rare live recording with Patrick Gleason as an official member, and features an ensemble that can only be heard with this product, including songs from the album “SEXTANT” being played for more than twice the length of the album. The biggest attraction is the performance that is a mixture of a chaotic funky style reminiscent of Miles’ Agartha and four beats. Eddie Henderson, who is participating on trumpet, was very impressed with his intense playing, where you can feel the scent of Miles who is far different from the album “CROSSINGS”! The original source is a reprint sound source from the cassette tape at the time, so there will be some hiss noise. Even if you deduct that, it is packed with overwhelming performances that you can listen to carefully. LIVE AT STRATA CONCERT GALLERY, DETROIT 02/20/1973 DISC 1 1.HIDDEN SHADOWS 2.FIREWATER DISC 2 1.REVELATION 2.YOU’LL KNOW WHEN YOU GET THERE 3.QUASAR 4.INPROVISATION HERBIE HANCOCK(keyb), BENNIE MAUPIN (reeds, perc), BUSTER WILLIAMS(b), BILLY HART(dr, perc) EDDIE HENDERSON(tpt, fl), JULIAN PRIESTER(trb, perc), PATRICK GLEESON(synth)
