Description
This is a recording of the first day of the “Wayne Shorter Legacy Celebration” held in 2019. Although it bears the name of Wayne Shorter, unfortunately Shorter himself was not there, so please forgive me. Danilo Pérez, John Patitucci, and Brian Blade, who worked with Shorter at the time, formed the foundation, and Terrace Martin, who is famous for producing new generation jazz musicians such as Robert Glasper and Kentrick Lamar, participated. The opening act on this first day was Herbie Hancock, who has played with him for a long time and is also a good friend. It consists of songs written by Wayne Shorter and songs from collaborative albums. On other days, the saxophone player who replaces Shorter takes the opening act, but on this day only keyboard player Herbie takes the opening act. It is an audience recording, but it is a well-recorded advanced audience sound source.
