Description
The masterpiece of Kai Hansen’s “Guardian God Legend HELLOWEEN” is now available for purchase! This is a 5-disc set of “2 CDs + 3 DVDs” that contains 5 live performances from 1986, when Kai was the vocalist, to 1988, just before he left the band. Moreover, it is a huge work that collects all the existing pro shots, sound boards, and various high-quality masters of the audience at once, and puts them together in about 5 and a half hours. It is a work that will fill you up with “Kai era HELLOWEEN”, or rather, even if you are full, you will still be able to approach it with a large volume that will not forgive you. Now, let’s introduce each live performance… [Disc 1 & 2] This is a 2-disc set of the full live performance of “Nottingham performance on November 3, 1988” vacuum packed in the “Crazy S. Collection”. It’s thrilling to hear the full live performance from the “Guardian God Legend – Chapter 2” era, but it’s also irresistible that it was recorded by the famous “Crazy S.” Perhaps due to the PA on the day, it feels like there is a distance at first, but as the show progresses, it becomes clearer and clearer, and it becomes the beautiful “Crazy S. sound.” The performance is a must-listen, but the set list is also the best. The flow from the chorus of “Happy happy halloween” to “Invitation” → “Eagle Fly Free” alone is enough to give you goosebumps, but in addition, all songs except “Initiation” and “You Always Walk Alone” from “Guardian God Legend – Chapter 1” and “Twilight of the Gods” from “- Chapter 2” are performed, and they are arranged in the natural flow of the live. In the first place, “Guardian God Legend”, which was supposed to be a two-disc set, was divided and released, but it is reunited and fused on stage. Of course, the 10-minute-plus “Halloween” and “Keeper Of The Seven Keys” are also played consecutively, with “Follow the Sign (Guitar Solo)” in between! This is, this is the “Guardian Legend” that it should be!!! However, there are many obstacles to success. There is a tape change at the end of “Keeper Of The Seven Keys”. Even though everything is perfectly in place up to this point, missing the climax is the only and biggest flaw of this recording. [Disc 3] This is getting long. Let’s move on. Now onto the video section. First, Disc 3 is a rare video of the very early days when Kai was on vocals and just after Michael Kiske joined the band. The “Kai Song” era was filmed over 54 minutes at the “April 20, 1986 Einhoven (Netherlands) Performance”. The “Kai Song” era is dazzlingly rare, but what’s amazing is the quality. Although it is an audience shot, it is a very stable image using a tripod, and the zoom is perfect. Even the tracking noise seems to be almost a professional shot, and it is probably a documentary shot by the venue or the band staff. Amid the explosion of thrash-like power metal, Michael Weikart, who is a rich freak, is also a masterpiece video that makes you smile. The second half is a genuine multi-camera pro shot of the “October 20, 1987 Minneapolis performance”! Although it is a famous video, the image quality of the super-beautiful master is amazing, which is incomparable to the video era, and young Michael Kiske sings with sound board audio! Sing!! Sing!!! Although it is short at 36 minutes, all the songs of “Guardian God Legend – Chapter 1-” except “A Little Time” and “Follow the Sign” are played, and “Halloween” is also perfect at full scale. It is no exaggeration to say that it is the supreme video of the “live version of Guardian God Legend – Chapter 1-“. [Disc 4] Let’s keep going! The fourth disc is the complete 80-minute footage of the “March 18, 1987 Tuttlingen (West Germany) performance.” Filmed with a fixed camera at the back of the venue, it is incredibly stable, has beautiful zoom, and the sound is like a line recording, with a direct feel that captures even the subtleties of Kiske’s rich, relaxed vibrato. This is also a gem of footage that cannot be called “audience filming.” As part of the “Guardian Legend – Chapter 1” tour, the band performed all songs except “Follow the Sign,” as well as “You Always Walk Alone” from “- Chapter 2.” What’s even more pleasing is that we get to see a lot of songs from the “Kai song” era, which have been powered up by the “Kiske song.” In particular, the four songs “Judas”, “Cry For Freedom”, “Guardians” and “Ride The Sky”, which can never be experienced officially, are so happy, so happy!! Kiske sings “that” chorus melody of “Guardians” loudly… Oh, already! Sorry. The bonus also includes two TV interviews from that time. [Disc 5] The last fifth disc is “Donington performance on August 20, 1988”. Yes, it is a pattern of the appearance at the tragic “MONSTERS OF ROCK 1988” which resulted in two deaths. This work is a genuine audience shot (front block) covered with genuine sound board sound (radio sound source). Some songs are recorded in parts, but Kiske’s singing voice roaring on the sound board is really amazing. Even though he was going wild at the live performance, he had a generous vocalization without a single faint sound…he was a really amazing singer. The tragedy occurred at GUNS N’ ROSES two hours after this work, but at this point, bottles flew from the excited audience toward the stage, and you can see the strange tension and compression. For them, this was the first time they had ever been on such a big stage, so they thought, “Is this Donington?”, and sang and performed as if they were enjoying the huge sea of people. This is a masterpiece video that conveys the historic festival to the present day using the best existing records. This is a masterpiece that conveys the historic festival to the present day with the overwhelming power of “Guardian God HELLOWEEN” over 5 hours. Even in the audience recording/shooting, there is not a single one of average quality, and this volume is only with carefully selected and powerful masters. By the time you enjoy it all, you can make a round trip between Tokyo and Osaka by Shinkansen. Well, what do you think?
