Description

In 1988, Hall & Oates ran through the glamorous 1980s, with five albums from “VOICES” to “OOH YEAH!” winning consecutive platinum discs. Introducing the best soundboard album that summarizes such a golden age. This work was recorded at “Mountain View Performance on July 9, 1988.” This is a stereo soundboard recording. This show has long been known for having the best soundboard, but this work is a definitive record that updates the record in both length and sound. Before explaining the upgrade points, first let’s talk about the show’s position. Let’s take a look back at the overall picture of the last world tour in the 1980s. 1988《“OOH YEAH!” released on June 10》・June 11-October 6: North America #1 (54 performances) ←★Here★・October 13-27: Japan (9 performances)・November 15-21: North America #2 (4 performances) 1989 ・February 4 + March 22 + May 5: North America #3 (3 performances) ・June 3-July 4: North America #4 (8 performances) September 2: San Antonio performance November 13-15: North America #5 (3 performances) This is Hall & Oates in 1988/1989. Even though it’s a world tour, it’s actually all North America except Japan. Among them, the Mountain View performance of this work is the beginning. This was the 9th concert of “North America #1”, which took place one month after the release of the album. This work, recorded at a show full of such a kick-off feeling, is one that updates the highest peak. As mentioned above, soundboard recording has been known for a long time and has been loved for its superb quality directly connected to a mix desk. However, unfortunately the recording was interrupted at the end of the show. Even though there was only about a minute left, the performance ended in a stalemate. This work complements not only that last part, but also the middle disc division points with newly discovered superb audience recordings. It is a complete album that includes all shows. And the key point is the audience recording used for supplementation. This is truly the best. If you have experienced a conventional sound board, you know that it is completely official quality except for the vividness, but you will not feel any discomfort even if you connect it to that extremely thick and thick sound board. Of course, the mastering has brought the tone as close as possible, but it’s such a master that you can’t tell where it switched from the core of the line sound. Precisely because this new discovery was realized in 2021, it is also the first complete edition. What is engraved on this complete live album is the hit parade +α that dominated the music scene in the 1980s. In order to understand how luxurious it is and the true nature of “+α”, let’s organize the set here. 70’s (4 songs)・Abundant Luncheonette: She’s Gone・Sara Smile・Rock’n Soul: Rich Girl・Modern Pop: Wait For Me 80’s (18 songs)・Modern Voice: Kiss on My List/Everytime You Go Away/You Make My Dreams・Private Eyes: I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do)・H2O: Maneater・From A.to・ONE: Say It Isn’t So/Adult Education・Big Bang Boom: Possession Obsession/Method of Modern Love/Out of Touch ・Ooh Yeah!: Downtown Life/Everything Your Heart Desires/Talking All Night/Rockability/Missed Opportunity ・Others: Family Affair/Love Train/Hot Fun In The Summertime…and it looks like this. While the past singles are lined up in a row, the centerpiece is the number of the latest work “OOH YEAH!” at the time. “Everything Your Heart Desires,” which reached No. 3 in the U.S., was played on the later tour, but “Downtown Life,” “Talking All Night,” “Rockability,” and “Missed Opportunity” were exclusive songs from the “OOH YEAH” Tour. .SLY & THE FAMILY STONE’s “Family Affair” is also a delicious cover from 1988. Hall & Oates was the darling of the 1980s, so its golden age had to end with its end. It is a masterpiece where you can enjoy the full show, which can be said to be the culmination of that, on a super-excellent sound board that directly touches your brain. Although it is completely official in terms of level, it is a super underground masterpiece with a vividness that would never be possible with official products. The finest stereo soundboard recording of “July 9, 1988 Mountain View Performance”. The conventional version had a vivid sound directly connected to the desk, but the last part was a cut-off dragonfly, but this work is supplemented with a newly discovered audience recording. This is the definitive edition that has evolved into a complete version. The audience recording is also an ultra-tight close-contact recording that can only be heard on the line, so it doesn’t feel strange even if it is said to be “all soundboard”. This is a historic new album that lets you fully experience a show that sums up the golden 80s, with rare songs such as “Downtown Life,” “Talking All Night,” “Rockability,” and “Missed Opportunity.” Live at Shoreline Amphitheater, Mountain View, CA, USA 9th July 1988 STEREO SBD(UPGRADE) Disc 1 (63:41) 1.
