Description
The night before the revolution… No, the first step of the revolution is now available in a complete version. The historic night was the “June 22, 1987 Marquee performance”. It was the middle day of the legendary “Marquee Club 3DAYS”, which was the kickoff of the world-changing “APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION TOUR” and the first overseas performance of GUNS N’ ROSES. Speaking of the 1987 Marquee, three live takes were also included in “LIVE FROM THE JUNGLE”, but this is a different day. Taking into account the surrounding dates, we can summarize the situation at the time… December 16th, 1986: “LIVE ?!*@ LIKE A SUICIDE” released June 15th, 1987: Single “IT’S SO EASY” released June 19th, 1987: Marquee (first overseas performance) June 22nd, 1987: Marquee [this album] June 28th, 1987: Marquee “LIVE FROM THE JUNGLE” included July 21st, 1987: “APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION” released August 1987: Main tour (North America) begins As you can see, GUNS N’ ROSES had created the revolutionary album “APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION” at the time, but it had not yet been released. The only sounds available were “LIVE ?!*@ LIKE A SUICIDE” and the single “IT’S SO EASY”. With only that little sound and the pre-release reputation of “a great band has come out”, they crossed the ocean and made the legendary move to England, even appearing on the cover of “KERRANG!” magazine. This was the moment they left their home country of America and took off into the world. The recording of GUNS N’ ROSES’ most important marquee performance is also legendary. It has been known for a long time, but the truth is that it is an incomplete version. It was the Langley label “MARQUEE 1987” that surprised enthusiasts around the world for the first time with the recording and master quality of “all songs”. It was a real shock when it appeared. It was the most important concert in history and the best sound. It is easy to call the bold and straightforward musical sound “like a sound board”, but the reality is so fierce that it becomes an insult. Even though it is understandable that the musical tones are close to each other only in the narrow marquee, the details and the powerful impact of the detailed smashing are beautifully contained without cracking. It was a hyper recording that made me wonder how it was recorded with the equipment at that time. However, the super-famous recording was not perfect either. There was a chip in the beginning of the first song, “Shadow Of Your Love,” and the scene of waiting for the encore after the end of “Paradise City” was also missed (to save tape?). In other words, even though it was “all songs,” it was not a “complete body.” Therefore, this work is based on the legendary famous recording and complements it with another recording of the same live performance, “ANOTHER MARQUEE TAPE (POWER GATE-075).” It is a piece that allows you to experience this legendary night in a seamless “complete body.” Moreover, the “ANOTHER MARQUEE TAPE” used for complementation is not just a person. This is the original cassette of the master “Crazy S.”, and it also blew the minds of enthusiasts all over the world, making the name “Crazy S.” known all over the world. This one also had cuts in other places, but this work made the “legendary two” complement each other and become the first complete version in history. The “legendary complete version” that was created in this way is… overwhelming. In “It’s So Easy,” Axel talks about “our new single,” but even more than that, the performance and the feeling on the spot are extraordinary. As mentioned above, there were almost no works at this point, and the core rock enthusiasts with sharp ears gathered relying on rumors. Moreover, the enthusiasts in the UK are not only discerning ears, but also merciless cynics. In front of such “real” customers, GUNS N’ ROSES slammed a number of songs they didn’t know with fierce force… The result was a brilliant victory for the band! The crowd, who usually make a lot of noise, were stunned, and after each song they gave a thunderous ovation, savoring the thought that “I’m watching something amazing.” For the usual British guys, the loudest response would be something like “Wow, they’re doing it!”, but this was clearly a different kind of explosive ovation and enthusiasm. They were unaware that what was happening in front of them would become “legendary,” and before they had time to comprehend the overwhelming phenomenon, their whole bodies were assaulted. This atmosphere was the exact moment when the “revolution began.” The DJ introduced a band they hadn’t seen yet at the beginning, and even while waiting for the encore, he asked, “How was GUNS N’ ROSES?” And the audience left the scene, talking in passionate tones about the phenomenon they had just seen… This is the only superb album where you can fully experience every word with the best sound. This is GUNS N’ ROSES’… No, the most important live album in rock history. Live at the Marquee, London, UK 22nd June 1987 TRULY PERFECT SOUND(COMPLETE) (61:27) 1. Intro. 2. Opening 3.
