Description
The GUNS whirlwind is not subsiding! The top recordings of all the performances last week and the week before last appeared at once, but once again, a special album with a special grade and “super” has appeared! This work contains the “January 29, 2017: Saitama Super Arena performance”, which is highly acclaimed as the “best show”. This is a luxurious 6-disc set that includes the new best audience recording and an astonishing ear-in-monitor (IEM). Please do not be confused as we delivered “SAITAMA SUPER ARENA 2017 DAY 1: MATRIX” last week. While it was “Saitama’s first day” and “Matrix”, this work is “Saitama’s second day” and “IEM and AUD two-source set”. It is a completely different thing, and both the IEM and the audience are original masters only for our shop. Now, let’s introduce each master. [Disc 1-3: Best Audience Master] First of all, the newly arrived full recording of the audience will appear. This is also an incredibly great sound! The 3CD “SAITAMA SUPER ARENA 2017 2ND NIGHT” released the other day was an unusually high-quality record that could be said to be the best masterpiece of the tour, but this work is also amazing. It’s not exactly “updated the best masterpiece!”, but the core is extremely thick and the sound is thick. The bass is particularly great, and Duff McKagan’s bass is unusually cool. It’s not just the bass that stands out, but each grain stands out with a gorilla-like binbin, and the dynamism is tremendous. Of course, all the instruments, including Axel’s vocals and Slash’s guitar, are clearly captured, and even the “gaps” between each other’s sounds stand out clearly. And the enthusiasm that overflows, filling the “gaps” of such an ensemble, is amazing. The perspective of the seats far away from the enthusiasm approaching is beautifully captured, creating a sense of scale and three-dimensionality of the “Saitama Super Arena”. Of course, the thick and meaty musical tones are far more powerful, but the grooves, phrases, and reactions to the accelerator’s stimulation are super vivid. It’s a sense of unity that makes it seem as if it’s part of the performance. Usually, when we talk about “unity” at a live performance, we think of a chorus in which the audience is united, but it’s rare to see the enthusiasm of the howling cheers assimilated with the music. This final day is called the “best show” because of the longest and most numerous set of songs, the condition of the band, and the good sound output, but the audience was also “best”… This is a live album that makes you feel that clearly. [Disc 4-6: IEM Master] Next comes the much-anticipated IEM album. This is also amazing. The quality that is of interest is the super vivid and superb “IEM sound”. Of course, the direct feeling of the “brain screw” class with a sharp edge is awe-inspiring because the balance is beautiful. After all, IEM is for the members who are playing to grasp the progress of the show. For that reason, it is difficult to use for appreciation, as the “entrance” is usually emphasized too much or only certain instruments pop out. Therefore, it is common to matrix it with an audience recording. However, this work is different from such ordinary IEMs. You can enjoy the ensemble of the entire band while remaining super vivid, without even having to matrix it. The taper that I intercepted also said, “I don’t know who this IEM is for,” but it is rare to have such a well-balanced IEM… Of course, the official version is on a different level, but the fiercely vivid performance is forcibly twisted into my brain. What further deepens the mystery is the conversation that is transparent behind the scenes. For example, between “Mr. Brownstone” and “Chinese Democracy,” instructions fly (in English) saying, “Hey, prepare your guitar! Slash’s,” and in “Double Talkin’ Jive,” you can hear Axel talking (who has retreated to the wings of the stage?) during the guitar solo. These voices come in with the same volume and clarity as the performance and singing (everywhere!). Who is changing instruments and checking what is controlling the stage? What kind of whispers are they making behind the scenes of the passionate performance? This interestingness can only be experienced with an IEM, not with a sound board directly connected to the table. As mentioned above, the audience album “SAITAMA SUPER ARENA 2017 2ND NIGHT”, the tour’s best CD, has already appeared on the “Saitama 2nd Day”. In fact, that masterpiece is perfect. It is unshakable. However! This work is also amazing. The well-balanced “beauty” is half a step off, which is why the awesomeness of the scene emerges, and the fun of the backstage. Although it is a set of the finest on-site recording and a rare record, both are complete recordings of the show. It is a special edition that is “super” both musically and psychologically. Because it is underground, it is a masterpiece of the “best show” that can only be underground.
