Description
The precious and exquisite “original GN’R European performance” is now available. This work contains a part of the only world tour with the original lineup, “APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION TOUR”. This is an audience album from the “September 30, 1987 Dusseldorf performance (West Germany)”. The original GN’R changed the world with the revolutionary album “APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION” and the subsequent tour, but this work is a special one among them. Before explaining the meaning of “special”, let’s take a look at the whole picture of the “APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION TOUR” that changed the world.・June 1987: UK #1 (3 shows at Marquee Club) ・August-September 1987: North America #1 (24 shows) ・September-October 1987: Europe (3 shows) ←★Here★ ・October 1987: UK #2 (5 shows) ・October 1987-August 1988: North America #2 (115 shows) ・August 20, 1988: UK #3 (1 show at MONSTERS OF ROCK) ・August-September 1988: North America #3 (16 shows) ・December 1988: Japan (5 shows) ・December 1988: Oceania (4 shows) That’s a total of 176 shows. The whole world was shocked by this tour, but the balance was very unique. If we look at the breakdown, we see that there are 155 shows in the US, followed by 8 in the UK, 5 in Japan, and 4 in Oceania, with only 3 shows in continental Europe (2 in West Germany). The later “USE YOUR ILLUSION TOUR” toured many European countries, but the original GN’R only had these 3 shows. The Dusseldorf show included in this work is a precious one, the second day of the tour. This is a wonderful live album, even if you ignore its rarity. This is a remaster of the masterpiece “DUSSELDORF 1987” from the original master, and its quality is the highest even in the historical event of “1987”. Speaking of early records in 1987, the legendary Marquee performance “MARQUEE 1987 2ND NIGHT” and the British recording “NOTTINGHAM 1987” where Axel gets furious are famous, but this work is not inferior to such super masterpieces … or rather, it is of the finest quality that may surpass them. None of them can be compared to important recordings engraved in history, but from a pure audio point of view, this work is a wonderful sound that is half a step ahead. The musical sound is so bold and delicate that you want to call it “like a sound board”. The nuances of the guitar that breathes in the performance that hits unreservedly are delicate, and the groove of the beat is also conveyed richly. While there is a vivid on-site feeling unique to audience recording, the voices of the audience are far and wide, and conversely, the musical sound has no sense of distance in the crystal clear atmosphere … It is truly a masterpiece worthy of being called “1987”. The live performance depicted by that sound is also a masterpiece that will become “the representative of 1987”. As you can see from the schedule above, this work is an overseas tour after warming up the engine in the US. Both “the momentum right after the debut” and “the tension of a foreign country for the first time” are the two wheels of the car that drive the show. In this work, Axel says “How many people can understand English?”, but for him, “non-English” itself is a first experience, and that foreign feeling is also drifting in his usual polite singing. In the UK’s “NOTTINGHAM 1987” released soon after, there was an accident scene where Axel got angry and cut the performance short, but on the contrary, this work is wonderful from start to finish, and it also shows “Nightrain” and “Mama Kin” that can’t be heard in “NOTTINGHAM 1987”. In West Germany, “APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION” won platinum certification, and the next “USE YOUR ILLUSION TOUR” expanded to 11 performances, but if you can show off such great performances and enthusiasm, you can achieve it with just two performances… It’s such a huge impact concert. Even in the “APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION TOUR” that repainted the whole world, the start dash was dazzling in “1987”. The European performance in particular was a great performance where the mind, technique and body were meshed. This is a great recording that depicts it with the best sound. There are no troubles or abnormal incidents here. Only the true value of the wonderful “1987” is recorded beautifully. This is the best album to know how wonderful the “APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION TOUR” was. Live at Tor 3, Dusseldorf, Germany 30th September 1987 TRULY PERFECT SOUND (57:50) 1. Pre-Show Music 2.
