Description
GUNS N’ ROSES in 1991, who created the masterpiece “USE YOUR ILLUSION” and appeared again in the world. A soundboard album that will pour into your brain the restart stage that the whole world was waiting for with bated breath is now available. This work permanently preserves the “January 20, 1991 Rio de Janeiro performance”. It is a stereo soundboard recording of the appearance at the “2nd ROCK IN RIO” that was revived for the first time in six years. The “USE YOUR ILLUSION” era was a turbulent period when the members were changing minutely while performing huge tours. First of all, let’s look back on the overview of that time and approach the position of this work. 1990 (February: Dizzy Reed joins) April 7th: Appearance at Farm Aid (June: Stephen leaves, Matt Sorum joins) (November: “USE YOUR ILLUSION” completed) 1991 January 20th + 23rd: ROCK IN RIO II (2 shows) ←★HERE★ May 9th – 16th: Warm-up (3 shows) ←※Official LIVE IN NEW YORK May 24th – August 3rd: North America #1 (37 shows) August 13th – 31st: Europe (7 shows) ←※STOCKHOLM 1991 1ST NIGHT (September 17th: “USE YOUR ILLUSION I&II” released) (November: Izzy leaves, forming a 13-person line-up including horns) December 5th – 31st: North America #2 (9 shows)This is GUNS N’ ROSES in 1990 and 1991. Speaking of the 1991 live album, there is currently “LIVE IN NEW YORK” included in the super deluxe edition of “USE YOUR ILLUSION”, but the appearance at “ROCK IN RIO” was about four months before that. This work was the first day of the two-day event, and was the first stage of the new system with Dizzy Reed/Matt Sorum. As it is a huge festival that attracts attention from all over the world, the pattern was broadcast on TV/radio. The TV broadcast version of the pro shot is familiar as a gift in our shop. This work is not the sound drop … but the FM broadcast version of the same show. It is a masterpiece that was made into a CD from the existing best master under the supervision of overseas researchers. The sound and editing are different from the TV broadcast, and first of all it is long. The local Portuguese DJ overlaps in places, but unlike the TV broadcast, there are no cuts between the songs, and it is recorded for more than 10 minutes in total. *Note: The TV broadcast version DVD “ROCK IN RIO 1991 1ST NIGHT TV BROADCAST THE BEST & LONGEST” released at the same time this week is about 5 minutes longer, but the difference from this work is the reporter’s talk and interviews with local fans. This is an unnecessary part for this live album. And the sound. It seems to be different from the TV broadcast in terms of mix, and the balance of the essential performance sounds and vocals pushed forward is very easy to listen to. It can’t be said to be “official class!” only for South American broadcasts in the early 1990s, but as expected of the best master, the brightness is high and the contours are clear and clear. Of course, this is not something that was forcibly raised by digital processing, but the vividness due to the master freshness that was left in the details. Such a vivid sound depicts a full show where the world premiere “USE YOUR ILLUSION” number is also fully performed. It is quite different from the official “LIVE IN NEW YORK” mentioned above, so let’s organize the historical full set while comparing it here. Use Your Illusion (7 songs) I: Double Talkin’ Jive (★) / Dead Horse (★*) II: Pretty Tied Up (★) / Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door / You Could Be Mine (★) / Civil War / Estranged (★) Others (7 songs) Appetite for Destruction: Mr. Brownstone / Welcome to the Jungle / It’s So Easy (*) / Sweet Child o’ Mine / Paradise City Others: Patience / Love Theme from The Godfather (★*) *Note: ★ indicates songs that were premiered worldwide. * indicates songs that were not heard at the official “LIVE IN NEW YORK” concert. …And so it is. Starting with “Pretty Tied Up” is already a rare treat, and they continue to generously spew out new songs (at the time) afterwards. “Dead Horse” was not only not included in “LIVE IN NEW YORK”, but was also a daily song that was not played on the second day of “ROCK IN RIO”. The performance also seems to be a premiere. The ensemble is not yet familiar with the whole body, and they play as if to check the feel of the performance and the reaction of the audience. This work is a sound board that will meticulously imprint such subtle nuances into your brain. 34 years ago, the whole world was waiting for “the next move of the monster GUNS N’ ROSES”. This is an FM sound board album that blows out the atmosphere of that time from the speakers. Stereo sound board recording of “January 20, 1991 Rio de Janeiro performance”. This is a masterpiece that was made into a CD from the best master supervised by an overseas researcher in the FM broadcast version, which is different from the TV broadcast. It is recorded for more than 10 minutes longer than the TV broadcast, and the mix is even more vivid and easy to listen to. This is a historic live album that allows you to enjoy the “USE YOUR ILLUSION” number, which will be the world premiere.
