Description
A revival of a famous sound source! In 1982, the reunited GFR toured Japan with Dennis Bellinger on bass. On September 6th, the Tokyo Budokan performance was recorded for 67 minutes with a high-quality stereo line recording directly connected to the desk. The live performance on this day was broadcast on the radio, and there were several titles using air check takes in the past, but this sound source is a completely different master from that, the opening is recorded longer, and “Rock & Roll Soul”, which was cut on FM broadcast, is included. The recorder forgot to reverse the tape, so Heartbreaker is recorded for just under a minute, and the following Mean Mistreater and We’re An American Band are undelivered, but the sound is different from the broadcast version, and you can enjoy it uncut except for the above-mentioned missing parts. This board was released five years ago by the TRIAL label under the title “Rock & Roll Soul” and was highly praised by fans, but this time it has been re-recorded from the original master tape, the sound pressure has been increased, and the sound quality has been adjusted to achieve a more complete sound. You can enjoy the sound of Mark’s Stratocaster, Dennis’ bass with its loud notes full of presence, and Don’s powerful drums with a truly vivid feel. The songs on the new album “Grand Funk Lives” at the time are also wonderful, and you can enjoy such an excellent live stage that you could say the whole album is worth listening to. A must-have remastered version for fans. Live at Budokan, Tokyo, Japan 6th September 1982 STEREO SBD(from Original Masters) 1. Intro. 2. Footstompin’ Music 3. Rock & Roll Soul 4. Paranoid 5.
