Description
No way… I never expected that he would even appear at the Tokyo performance… GRAHAM BONNET BAND’s “LIVE IN JAPAN 2015: OSAKA & NAGOYA” made a shocking appearance last week. As the name suggests, it was a soundboard album of the Osaka & Nagoya performances in 2015, but this work is the 3DAYS edition of the Tokyo Nakano Sunplaza! As those who have listened to the Osaka/Nagoya edition will know, the sound is super-excellent. It was a super ultra-class soundboard album that was filled with the direct feeling of being directly connected to the desk, and could not have been possible except for the outflow of the people involved. In fact, this work also records all of the 3 Nakano Sunplaza performances with exactly the same quality. It’s not an “equal” quality. “Same” quality. I don’t know the details of how it leaked, but the sound itself seems to be loudly shouting, “It’s definitely from the same person.” Not only the sound but also the complete recording is the same as the Osaka/Nagoya edition. From the sound effects at the beginning of the performance to the time when they shout “Domo arigato!” and return to the wings of the stage, the approximately 50 minutes of GRAHAM BONNET BAND is recorded without missing a single second. No, the first day in Tokyo, “June 17th,” was recorded from the BGM before the performance, and it is recorded nearly 5 minutes longer than the Osaka/Nagoya edition. Apparently there was a time lag until the master arrived due to the performance date, but I can’t believe something like this could happen… Of course, even though the sound and quality are the same, the content of the show is different. Although the set list is almost the same, the quality of the performance and the atmosphere of the venue are also different. To be honest, each song has its pros and cons, so I can’t say for sure which performance is the best, but perhaps because he’s gradually getting used to it, Graham seems to be in better shape overall than the Osaka and Nagoya performances. Although there are some parts where it gets tougher in the high tones, there is a richness to the singing in the middle, and there is a high frequency of play. The guitar and other instruments seemed nervous in Osaka and Nagoya as it was their first time in Japan, but they played with confidence thanks to the warm welcome they received there. The difference in mood is most evident in the Japanese MC of Beth Ami Heavenstone, the only bass player. It’s between “Suffer Me” and the new song “Mirror Lies,” but in Osaka they just greeted each other in Japanese, and in Nagoya they greeted each other in Japanese while promoting their new EP “MY KINGDOM COME” in English. . However, at the Tokyo performance, you can hear a funny scene where even though they tried their best to speak in Japanese during the advertisement, they ended up speaking in English. What’s more, on the third and final day in Tokyo, Graham gently follows Beth Ami, who is doing her best and even receives a surprise present from the audience. Let me explain that part… Beth Ami: Good evening. Oh, sorry, just a little Japanese. Really. I started studying Japanese 28 years ago (in Osaka, they said 17 years ago: bitter smile). I forgot so much. But…what!? Thank you…It’s not a new year’s gift!” Graham: “Beautiful! That sounds good!!” Beth Ami: “Okay, ah, I have a new memory.” On iTunes . We have new memories. I’m sorry, we are up 2 songs on iTunes. Please goin’ check it up! Really Good! I love you! “She’s nerves, tonight. She speaks really really well, Japanese.”…In addition to this heartwarming scene, Graham also appeared on her first day in Tokyo. We had a light jam on electric acoustic guitar (precious!), and on the last day, we said, “Maybe we’ll play Johnny B. Goode (in English). No, I stopped” and started playing that intro (super precious!!). Then, drummer Chase Manhattan also started playing the rhythm, but Graham stopped him, saying, “I won’t do it!” You can listen to the mood of relaxing and enjoying the show with the official barefoot sound. Furthermore, at the end of Disc 3, a bonus recording of the sound check “God Blessed Video” at Nakano Sunplaza is included. Although the date is unknown, this is a sound source brought in by the same people and route, and the sound quality is still a super-excellent sound board. Someone other than Graham (Conrado Pecinado?) sings the main song. The highlight of this performance in Japan was the “dream collaboration with Michael Schenker”. However, even if we look only at Graham, he has been able to listen to a stable show with a good condition rarely seen in recent years (although not as good as in his heyday), and showed us a heartwarming bond with his new partner Beth Ami. This work, which is directly connected to the desk, contains only a few cheers, but even from that small sound, the warm mood is clearly conveyed. And more than that, you can even hear the breathing of Graham, who is 67 years old and truly enjoys hard rock. A miraculous 3-disc set that will make you feel even happier after experiencing this historic collaboration. This is a super high quality soundboard album that I never imagined existed. Please enjoy the complete miracle that took place in the summer of 2015!
