Description
A soundboard album containing Glenn Frey’s live performance held in midsummer Japan in 1986, 30 years ago, is now available. This is a joint live performance with Christopher Cross held as “KIRIN SOUND TOGETHER ’86”. The scene was the open theater EAST in the Yomiuriland amusement park. About 10,000 people packed into Japan’s largest permanent outdoor stage, which is currently closed, for a midsummer feast. The pattern was also broadcast on TV, and I think many people remember it, but this work is the highest quality live album. Of course, it is a complete official sound board, and all recording, mixing, and mastering are perfect. Although it is LP size at just under 40 minutes, it is a piece that allows you to enjoy “Live in Japan” perfectly without any gaps. Also, not only the quality but also the live content is wonderful. Speaking of his live albums, there is also the official version “GLENN FREY LIVE”, but that one was released in the 90’s. On the other hand, this is the golden era when the early masterpieces “NO FUN ALOUD” and “THE ALLNIGHTER” also received gold discs. In addition, the movie and drama soundtracks were also big hits, and even after EAGLES disbanded, you can fully enjoy Glenn’s singing voice, which was going well as a solo artist. In fact, this work is a condensation of the delicious aspects of his solos. He has released hit songs such as “Found Somebody” and “Partytown” from his solo debut “NO FUN ALOUD” and “Sexy Girl” and “The Allnighter” from his second album, as well as “The Heat Is” from the current exciting movie “Beverly Hills Cop.” “On” and “You Belong To The City” from the drama “Miami Vice” are lively and lively, as you can only imagine when they are in the middle of a huge hit, reaching No. 2 in the US! Hit singles, including EAGLES’ “Take It To The Limit” and “Heartache Tonight,” were played out one after another, like a jukebox. Of course, the hit songs that Glenn has written can’t all fit in this amount of time, but he is a rich hit maker packed into such a short time, and it brings us the “scent of 1986” fiercely. Despite such a hit parade, the biggest highlight of this work is the closing song, Larry Williams’ cover song “Slow Down.” He was able to co-star with Christopher Cross, who had the potential to knock down a flying bird. Glenn is the main singer, but he has a high tone that is said to be the voice of an angel, sometimes in the lead, and sometimes in the chorus. It is the best moment when the luxurious co-starring unique to 1986, unique to joint concerts, flows into your ears with a perfect sound board. Thirty years have passed since that summer night, and Glenn Frey has passed away. However, the brilliance of the singing voice in the songs he left behind has not faded to this day. And, it is a record of the highest quality concert that was held in Japan in 1986, when the spotlight was on him, not on “EAGLES”. A live album wrapped in Glenn’s most dazzling singing voice. Please add it to your music shelf at home and love it forever. Live at the Open Theater East, Tokyo, Japan 2nd August 1986 STEREO SBD (38:23) 1. Found Somebody 2. Sexy Girl 3. Take It To The Limit 4.
