Description
Gladys Knight & The Hips, whose Motown hit I Heard It Throught The Grapevine reached No. 2 in the US charts, If I Were Your Woman and Friend Ship, and whose Buddha hit Midnight Train to Georgia reached No. 1, as well as the famous Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me. After moving to Columbia, the group was unable to use their name from 1978 to 1980, but this is a live soundboard recording from around the time they made a comeback and released the album Touch. It’s also nice to hear live versions of two songs from that album, Reach High, featuring Roy Ayers’ famous keyboards and Philip Woo’s roaring synth phrases, and I Will Fight, which is a strong bro-con.
