Description

On December 7, 2008, a special live performance was held at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London to celebrate the Achievement Award given to Ginger Baker by Zildjian, and was recorded in full with many guest musicians over a period of three hours in ultra-high quality audience recording. Using the original master DAT, which is not available even among traders, you can enjoy this special night with the highest level of sound you can’t imagine. In the first half, Keith Carlock and Simon Phillips, who are highly regarded as the transcendent drummers of the new era, cover Cream numbers with British jazz guitarists Ray Russell and Crimson’s Tony Levin. In memory of Mitch Mitchell, Jimi Hendrix numbers are also played. Simon’s set ends with Can’t Find My Way Home. Next up was Steve White, a drummer who is well known for his work with Paul Weller, and his organ jazz unit Trio Valor. Jon Lord also appeared in the middle of the set and played two wonderful organ songs. Before Ginger’s set, a history video was played to honor his achievements, and at the end of the video, a video message from Eric Clapton, who was unable to participate that night, was also played. Immediately after that, Ginger Baker appeared on stage, introduced by Charlie Watts. He performed jazz with Jack Bruce and Courtney Pine, showcasing his roots. In Train Time, you can hear Jack’s energetic harmonica and vocals. In Aiko Biaye, which is recorded on Air Force with a strong ethnic color, you can hear a passionate performance of nearly 14 minutes with the band. The last part is a 10-minute solo centered on drums and percussion. Ginger’s serious playing, which is impressive with his serious song selection and performance, is impressive. This is a must-have for collectors, capturing a dreamlike night in London over three hours with the highest sound quality.
