Gillan/London,UK 1980 & more

After leaving Purple, he joined the Ian Gillan Band, restarted under the name “Gillan”, and here is a rare live recording from 1980 when Bernie Thome was at its peak. First of all, from the UK tour immediately after the release of the first half of “Mr. Universe”, a complete recording of the live performance at London’s Rainbow Theater on March 10th was recorded from a good audience master at that time. While Tohme’s tremendous play is attracting attention around the same album number, it is noteworthy that Ritchie Blackmore jumps in and participates in the encore “ROCK’N ROLL MEDLEY”. Incidentally, the live recordings that Richie has participated in so far include the famous gig at the Marquee Club in 1978, which was later officially released, but other than that, nothing else has been confirmed so far, and this is the first time that we have recorded that precious recording. The sound source will now see the light of day. Furthermore, in the latter half of the same year, from the UK tour after the release of “GLORY ROAD” in the fall of the same year, the Sheffield performance on October 6th is completely recorded with an official level stereo sound board sound source. The master that was aired on the radio in recent years was discovered, and although it was from the same year, the set also included numbers from “GLORY ROAD”, making it completely different.
