Description
The Gil Evans Orchestra, which is known for demonstrating its true potential in live performances, has released its first appearance live recorded from rare broadcast sound sources owned by enthusiasts, recording their appearance at a jazz festival held in Italy. I did. The things you’ll hear at this live show will be Steve Grossman’s tenor saxophone and Steve Lacey’s soprano saxophone. He later released a joint album with Steve Lacy called “Paris Blues,” and a live performance in December 1984 (a 4-disc set!) was also released. The sound source released this time is recorded from a cassette tape recorded by a maniac of a live broadcast on the radio at the time. The sound quality has deteriorated over time, but this is a work that will definitely satisfy fans. 1.Blues In C 2.Friday The 13th 3.Drizzling Rain 4.Stone Free Live at Italy 07/18/1981 Gil Evans(p) Steve Grossman(ts, ss) Lew Soloff(tpt) Hannibal Marvin Peterson(tpt ) Miles Evans(tpt) Dave Bargeron(tromb) George Lewis(tromb) Howard Johnson(tuba) Pete Levin(keyb) Luico Hopper(b) Omar Hakim(dr) Anita Evans(perc) Steve Lacy(ss track 2 and 4)
