George Harrison/Somewhere in England Original Version 1980

George’s alternate album of “Somewhere in England” is here in a remastered version edited overseas in 2017. “Somewhere in England” was released in 1981 and was originally scheduled to be released at the same time as John Lennon’s “Double Fantasy” at the end of 1980. The artwork and release date were already decided, but Warner, the publisher, demanded popular songs, so they were forced to start over, and as a result, the jacket and contents were changed and released. It is a well-known fact among fans. And while several recordings of the phantom original version have been distributed so far, this original version has been digitally remastered by an overseas fan site, and the quality has been improved significantly from the previous versions, and it is now available as the definitive version, including remix takes and demo recordings. First, Warner ordered the four songs “Flying Hour”, “Lay His Head”, “Sat Singing” and “Tears Of The World” to be reworked, and of course these four songs were recorded in the best quality. Instead, “Blood From A Clone”, “Teardrops”, “That Which I Have Lost” and “Gone Days”, a tribute song to John who died shortly after, were recorded. As a result, this song became a hit, reaching number 2 on the US charts, and became synonymous with the album, but many fans recommend the original version (track 1-1-) that can be heard here, and fans who have not heard it yet should definitely listen to it. Further bonus tracks include remix versions of the four rejected songs, “Save the World” for which the vocals were re-recorded in 1985 and provided for the omnibus album “Greenpeace,” as well as demo tracks of each song, some of which are seeing the light of day for the first time.
