Description

George Adams, who shows off his strong individuality in a double-headed quartet with Charles Mingus, Gil Evans, and Don Pullen, is joined by Hannibal Peterson, Ron Burton, and John Scott, who is currently in the Miles Davis Band. Introducing a super rare and super hot session where all the great people in the field come together! ! On September 1, 1984, a one-night-only special concert at the Saalfelden International Jazz Festival in Austria was held for over an hour and a half on the label’s own carefully mastered high-quality stereo soundboard. First appearance as a 2-disc set completely recorded over the period! ! Adams, who lets out a freaky roar from the beginning, and Hannibal, who hits high notes, and Burton, who hits the keys repeatedly with an intense playing style that rivals Pullen, seems to be venting his frustrations in the restrictive Miles group. Jonsco was playing a lot of music, Schnitker and Nelson were encouraging them, and I was worried about what was going to happen after the nosebleed from the beginning, but next was Jump Blues who were super excited. Adams’ lovely vocals are also great. Like Adams, Jonsko’s blues-based guitar is cool. Furthermore, Johnsko played the Meters’ killer funk number “Sissy Strut”, which was featured in “Flat Out” in 1989. The groovy performance that surpasses the original is very cool. After a series of uplifting numbers, the song cooled down with a beautiful ballad number with a lyrical melody. In the second half, the audience will not be bored for even a second with a performance full of manliness, with everything from the supremely loving Coltrane style to crunchy hard bop, and more! ! Johnsko, whose compatibility has been proven by co-starring with Adams/Pullen, who became the people of the time, is especially featured, and even has an unaccompanied solo corner. In the era when fusion was at its peak, Adams and Hannibal, who stuck to acoustic music but always made solid music that was a smorgasbord of music, including hard bop, spiritual, free music, blues, and funk, were perfect. Listen to these great performances of fusion music in the truest sense! !
