Description
The great story tour “THE LAMB LIES DOWN ON BROADWAY TOUR 1974-1975” that remains in the history of British rock. It is also famous for producing many full sound boards, but one of them is too special and is reprinted with the highest quality. The “special sound board” was recorded at the “April 19, 1975 Liverpool performance”. About 10 years ago, there was a rush to excavate the full sound board of this tour, but our shop also released it as “THE LAMB LIES DOWN ON EMPIRE”. Among the many sound boards, it is a famous recording that gained special popularity as “British Broadway” and “the most evolved dazzling sound board”, and was sold out and discontinued in an instant. Before introducing what is special about this show, let’s first organize the full-scale sound board once again. [1974] December 16th “MAPLE LEAF LAMB (24th performance)” December 17th “ROCHESTER 1974 (25th performance)” [1975] January 10th “DEFINITIVE FLORIDA LAMB (28th performance)” January 11th “DEFINITIVE LAKELAND 1975 (29th performance)” January 24th “LAMB MASTER IN LOS ANGELES (38th performance)” January 28th “THE LAMB LIES DOWN IN PHOENIX (41st performance)” April 19th [This work (84th performance)] [The only full sound board in the home country] There are seven in total. There are other sound boards, but they are only partial. This is the only one where you can listen to the story work “Dazzling Broadway” almost in full. As you can see, most of them are North American tours, and this is the only soundboard from the UK performance. This is the meaning of the “British Broadway” mentioned above. Of course, just being a UK performance will not attract attention. What was truly special was the sound. Although all of the above seven are excellent soundboards, most of them have some kind of tape deterioration or noise. Among them, the Liverpool performance boasts a glossy sound that is uninterrupted from start to finish, and the vivid stereo feeling is also official class. Along with the Lakeland performance, it was an extraordinary quality that competed for the top work. This work revives the excavated master with the latest and meticulous remastering. Of course, I did not do the unrefined maneuver of increasing the sound pressure randomly. The vividness of the original soundboard is intact, and the rise and sound of the sound are organized. A clearer and more direct feeling has been achieved. While the previous “THE LAMB LIES DOWN ON EMPIRE” had a “sense of history” that was unearthed, this work has a more official “sense of work” sound. [A masterpiece that is the goal of “5-person GENESIS”] It seems perfect from start to finish, but unfortunately it is not. As with the previous works, there is still a slight cut at the beginning of “The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway” and “Anyway”, and in this work, the first minute and 25 seconds of “The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway” are complemented by a super high-quality audience. Because of this drawback, the pinnacle work is “DEFINITIVE LAKELAND 1975”, but this work exceeds the Lakeland performance. It is the essential live performance itself. GENESIS in the Peter Gabriel era is also known as a growth period in which performance ability improved with each album and each tour, but this work is also the last full sound board. Of the seven albums mentioned above, this is the only one that is a later recording, but the degree of growth is clear. “DEFINITIVE LAKELAND 1975” was two weeks apart from the official Los Angeles performance and the performance was similar, but this album has performed more than 40 live shows since then, and the sharp performance runs through the entire work. Phil Collins’s bass drum in “In The Cage” is a godlike one, and the arrangement of “Lilywhite Lilith”, in which Peter also participates, makes you forget the studio version. And the highlight on the original D side is an overwhelming performance that you can’t hear anywhere else. The reason for this growth was probably because it was a tour that reproduced the album in full. It seems that the members at that time were tired of playing the same songs in the same order every night, but that’s why they were thoroughly polished and trained. I don’t know how conscious they were of it, but it’s a complete ensemble that feels like they trained in a tiger’s cave. This is what we mean by “the most evolved dazzling soundboard”. Today, we can enjoy seven kinds of live performances of “Dazzling Broadway”. It is a luxury, but this work is the most “special one” among them. It is the most complete and beautiful “Dazzling Broadway” and the final destination of “5-person era GENESIS”. A masterpiece that goes far beyond the dimension of a simply excellent soundboard, polished with modern technology, this is a gem. Please enjoy this wonderful progressive rock pole to your heart’s content. Live at Empire Theatre, Liverpool, UK 19th April 1975 STEREO SBD(UPGRADE) Disc 1(57:43) 1. The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway 2.
