Description

The most important sound source that is counted as one of the three top soundboards of progressive rock GENESIS, regardless of whether it is official or unofficial, has been upgraded. I suddenly declared it to be the “three major soundboards”, but I don’t think there will be any objections. As for which one I’m referring to, the first one is “DEFINITIVE MONTREAL 1974”, the peak of regular live performances from Peter Gabriel’s era, and the second one is “DEFINITIVE LAKELAND 1975”, the peak of “Broadway live”. And the third one is this work. A superb stereo soundboard recording of the masterpiece “April 13, 1976 Pittsburgh Performance” that recorded the only “A TRICK OF THE TAIL TOUR” in which Bill Bruford participated. Yes, it’s an upgraded version of that super masterpiece “DEFINITIVE TRICK”! All of a sudden, people started talking about the “big three” and “that masterpiece,” and for those who didn’t know what had already been released, it became a question of “???”. Once again, let’s look back from the show’s position. [“A TRICK OF THE TAIL” released in February]・March 26th – April 12th (16 performances in North America)・April 13th: Pittsburgh performance ←★This work★・April 14th – May 7th (17 performances in North America) – About 1 month later – June 9th – July 11th: Europe (29 performances) ← *Official [September – October “WIND & WUTHERING” production] [Bruford & GENESIS’ masterpiece Soundboard] This is the overall picture of “A TRICK OF THE TAIL TOUR” realized by “GENESIS with Blue Ford”. Speaking of this tour, I was able to enjoy the official video work “IN CONCERT”, but it was the final UK performance. The Pittsburgh performance of this work was the 17th concert of the “North American” leg, which was about three months before that. The sound board recorded at such a show is a classic among the classics that has been loved for a long time as a symbol of “A TRICK OF THE TAIL TOUR”. This tour is also famous for the superb soundboards of the Cleveland and Hammersmith performances, each of which has been upgraded repeatedly over a long history, and there has been a fierce competition for upgrades. In 2009, it was DEFINITIVE TRICK that made it through to the top and became the champion. After all, the Cleveland performance SBD is incomplete due to cuts (unfortunately), and the highest version of the Hammersmith performance SBD combines two sound sources, so it has not reached a complete sense of unity. On the other hand, “DEFINITIVE TRICK” is a complete sound board from beginning to end, and there is no audience supplementation like in the previous releases, and the sound quality is the best. It was truly a completely official level… No, it was a transcendent live album that was “completely official”. [Upgrading using all possible means] As it is a super masterpiece, it was sold out and discontinued while it was extremely popular. It has been difficult to obtain for about 10 years. This work further brushes up the transcendental sound board that still cannot be surpassed. Under the policy of “What exceeds the ultimate is the ultimate itself,” we have achieved a pinnacle record that pursues all possibilities. In the first place, “DEFINITIVE TRICK” itself was a historical pinnacle sound, so you might be wondering, “How can you upload that!?”, but this time, it goes into detail and reaches a microscopic level. We have made thorough corrections. There are many things, but the easiest to understand is pitch. Of course, he wasn’t crazy at the time of “DEFINITIVE TRICK”, but that’s just a total story. This time, each song… no, even within one song, even the pitch that had been slightly changing (at a few percent level) was precisely adjusted. Not only did we correct the pitch, which does not allow for even a momentary deviation, but we also corrected the phase deviation and the momentary high drop of one channel without leaving any trace. There’s no end to the list, so I’ll pick just one: “White Mountain.” The pitch, which was 4% higher, has been lowered, and the master deterioration, which was in the 2 minute range, has become better. Although each one is at a level that you can only notice when you listen to it and compare it with the previous releases, the “feel of the work” is greatly improved when it permeates the whole thing. What is depicted in such a top-notch updated quality is a group of GENESIS masterpieces that have been changed with the skill of the hero Bruford. The set is very famous, but this work is also extremely ultimate, so let’s properly organize and write about it. Gabriel era (10 songs)・Invasion: White Mountain (★)・Foxtrot: Supper’s Ready/Watcher Of The Skies (★)・Moonshadow Knight: The Cinema Show/Firth Of Fifth (★)/I Know What I Like ( In Your Wardrobe) – Dazzling Broadway: The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway (★) / Fly On A Windshield / The Carpet Crawlers / It (★) Trick of the Tail (5 songs) – Dance On A Volcano (★ ) / Robbery, Assault and Battery (★) / Entangled / Squonk (★) / Los Endos *Note: Songs marked with “★” cannot be heard on “IN CONCERT”. …and it looks like this. Approximately half of the songs can’t be heard on “IN CONCERT”, and “Supper’s Ready” and “Fly On A Windshield” are completely complete. In “SECONDS OUT”, only “The Cinema Show” can be realized, and you can enjoy the full show of “Bruford version GENESIS” on the super best sound board, including “Entangled” and “Squonk” that could not be heard in Cleveland SBD. Originally, I should have devoted more time to Phil Collins’ passionate performance after losing Gabriel, but it’s probably too late. As I mentioned at the beginning, regardless of whether it’s official or unofficial, it’s part of the unrivaled trilogy soundboard left behind by prog rock GENESIS, and you can enjoy Bruford’s masterpiece down to the subtleties of every single stroke directly from your brain. The ultimate live album. It is a masterpiece that updates that “extreme”. It is a cultural heritage that goes beyond being a “GENESIS masterpiece” and symbolizes the music genre “progressive rock” itself. (Remaster Memo) Corrected the pitch that was about 1% to 4% higher as appropriate. (The impression is quite different from Disc 2’s IT and the previous edition.) Since it was originally edited from multiple sound sources with different speeds, I found the cut part and adjusted the pitch accordingly.
