Description
“WE CAN’T DANCE TOUR 1992” ended with a great success. The best soundboard album, which was the last two performances, is now available. This work was recorded at the Royal Albert Hall performance on November 16, 1992, which was also a charity concert for the Prince’s Trust. It was the day before the final day of the tour, “November 17th,” and since Phil Collins had left the show after doing one event show in 1993, it was a show at the very end of the final stage. This work, which contains such a live performance, is an ultra-high quality sound board using FM sound source. Although it is a famous recording from that time, it uses the master that is considered the best on GENESIS’s specialized site, and it is completely recorded with a sound that goes beyond the level of air check. When it was first released, it became such a hot topic that it completely wiped out previous titles. Although it is a live album from the end of the Philharmonic’s life, since it is a regular tour, the set list and performance are not a total settlement, but the set list and performances are full of the feeling of being active. Six songs from the then-new work “WE CAN’T DANCE” were played on a large scale, and together with four songs from the blockbuster hit “INVISIBLE TOUCH”, they accounted for most of the show. Other than that, it’s about “Home By The Sea” of “GENESIS” and “Turn It On Again” of “DUKE”. Among them, “Old Medley” stands out. The 70’s “Dance On A Volcano”, “The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway”, “The Musical Box”, “Firth Of Fifth”, “I Know What I Like” are played out one after another, and inside “I Know What I Like” There are also phrases from songs such as “That’s All,” “Illegal Alien,” “Your Own Special Way,” “Follow You Follow Me,” and “Stagnation”…so far, it’s familiar from the official album. What differs from the official version is the MC that takes place before that, and the story of Romeo & Juliet, which was told in the late 70s, is presented. This is probably a service for old fans in the UK, and the audience cheers for “The Cinema Show!!” one after another. The medley that rushes in with plenty of 70’s atmosphere has a deeper mood than the official take. Phil officially announced his withdrawal from the band in 1996, so we don’t know what he was thinking at that time. However, with the revival of the legendary MC, it is one of the many “WE CAN’T DANCE TOUR 1992” songs that gives you a strong sense of history. GENESIS had a string of big hits and remained at the forefront of the rock scene. This is a great live album that allows you to listen to the last stage of its brilliance all at once on the best soundboard. Whether you’ve been a big fan since back then or you’re like, “I don’t care about the three-man era…”, this is the best quality book to enjoy this era.
