Description

The Genesis soundboard collection has become a historic anomaly, with a tremendous rush of new discoveries in both quality and quantity. This new masterpiece, the “Wind & Wuthering Tour,” is here. This work features the “March 3, 1977, Quebec City Performance.” It’s a stereo soundboard recording. Perhaps influenced by the production of “Seconds Out,” 1977 was a rare era of soundboard abundance in Genesis history. We’ve archived as many masterpieces as possible, so let’s take a look at this work’s position from an overview of their activities at the time, including that collection.・January 1st-23rd: UK (20 performances) ←※ SOUTHAMPTON 1977 ・February 2nd-May 1st: North America (44 performances) ←★COCO★ ・May 10th-22nd: South America (12 performances) ←※ THE BRAZILIAN ’77 {“SPOT THE PIGEON” released on May 20th} ・June 2nd-July 3rd: Europe (20 performances) ←※ DEFINITIVE ZURICH 1977 {Steve Hackett leaves on October 8th / “SECONDS OUT” released on the 14th} This is GENESIS in 1977. The source of the official “SECONDS OUT” was the Leicester performance of the “UK” leg and the Paris performance of the “Europe” leg, but in fact it was the “North American” leg in between that had the most soundboards. Let’s focus on the dates further and take a look at our collection. Details of the “North American” leg: February 2-5 (3 performances) * February 6 “ST. LOUIS WINDS” February 8-1 (6 performances) * February 16 “CHICAGO 1977 2ND NIGHT FM” February 17-March 2 (11 performances * March 3: Quebec performance ←★This work★ March 5-17 (10 performances) * March 19 “DALLAS 1977” March 21 + 24 (2 performances) * March 25 “SAN FRANCISCO 1977 1ST NIGHT” March 26-May 1 (7 performances) *Note: The “*” mark is our soundboard collection. …And so it is. The masterpieces “DALLAS 1977” and “SAN FRANCISCO 1977 1ST It was a hugely productive leg, with a lineup of stellar masterpieces such as “THE NIGHT”. This work, which has broken into the mix, is also a masterpiece of the highest quality. Anyone who has experienced even one of this excavation rush will be blown away by the high quality, but this work is exceptional even among them. The key point is beauty. All of the newly excavated series are directly connected to the mix desk, but the sound of this work is not “bare” but has a glossy and balanced beauty. Although the unprocessed feeling of the performance is as expected of a leaked system, the slight echo gives the sound an exquisite luster, and there is also a feeling of pouring down that is typical of symphonic rock. The reason for this is probably the matrix. This show was previously Audience recordings have been known since then, and this work combines the original master recordings. This processing was not done by our store, but by the person who released the sound source. In fact, many of the newly excavated soundboard series this time connect the missing recording parts with audience recordings, but this work is different from that. It seems to be a matrix that spans the entire work, and the natural listening response without a sense of patchwork is wonderful, and the freshness is uninterrupted. The applause between songs is also realistic, and it ideally combines the vividness of a soundboard with the beauty derived from the audience. Such a beautiful soundboard depicts “WIND”, which is also the culmination of the Steve Hackett era. The full show from the “SECONDS OUT & WUTHERING Tour.” While familiar, we’ll also include some sets that are different from “SECONDS OUT.” Trick of the Tale, Squonk, Robbery, Assault & Battery (★), Dance On A Volcano, Los Endos, Storm of Silence, One For The Vine (*), Your Own Special Way (*), …In That Quiet Earth (*), Afterglow, Eleventh Earl Of Mar (*), Gabriel Era Classics, The Musical Box (Closing Section), Foxtrot: Supper’s Ready, Knight of the Moonlight: Firth Of Fifth, I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe), The Carpet Crawlers, The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. *Note: * indicates sets from “SECONDS OUT.” Songs not heard on “OUT.” A “★” indicates exclusive tracks not performed after the trio transition. Even so, it’s beautiful. While the core strength, meticulous detail, and vivid ensemble make this a top-notch soundboard, the symphonic sound that cannot be achieved on its own melts the heart. Unlike pure soundboards or audience recordings, this is a matrix world that differs from FM broadcasts and official productions. This stereo soundboard recording of the “Quebec City Performance on March 3, 1977” combines the unprocessed feel of a direct mix table with the beauty of a matrixed audience on that day. This is a new masterpiece that offers a distinctive sound that even incorporates the drenching sensation of symphonic rock.
