Gene Simmons’ first solo Japan tour in 2017 was limited to just two shows, mainly at Loud Park 17. The Loud Park performance at Saitama Super Arena on October 15th and the Namba Hatch performance on the 17th were both recorded in high-quality audience recordings. The Loud Park performance was a full reproduction of an hour-long show with a clear sound that was hard to believe it was at the huge Saitama Super Arena. The set contents that everyone was looking forward to were as follows: Paul Stanley’s solo performance was based on R&B covers, while Gene’s performance was centered on KISS’s signature numbers, but he also performed core numbers such as “Parasite”, “Do You Love Me”, “Watchin’ You” and “She” at key points. And the best part is “Got Love For Sale” from “LOVE GUN” which is a rare number that KISS may have never performed, and in addition to the 70’s numbers, there are also unexpected selections such as “I Love It Loud” and “War Machine” from “CREATURES OF THE NIGHT” and “Wall Of Sound” from “MONSTER”. And disc 2 is a complete recording of the Namba Hatch performance on October 17th, also with good sound, for 72 minutes. Since this is a solo performance, the songs are more detailed than Lauper, and in addition to the sudden “Deuce” and “Christine Sixteen”, “Domino” from “REVENGE”, the 1977 solo song “Radioactive”, and “You’re Going To Lose That Girl” by The Beatles are added.
