Description

ECM’s representative band “Gateway” performed in Bremen, Germany in 1983, and a very rare live performance was released, which was recorded in high quality directly from the radio source broadcast on Radio Bremen, making ECM fans covet it. This was a live performance in the 1980s, before the album had been released, and the opening song was a song from John Abercrombie’s solo album released in 1982, and the arrangement was different from the studio recording. The live performance continued with the second and third songs picked up from the first album released in 1975, and the members were a fusion of the strong personalities of John Abercrombie, Dave Holland, and Jack DeJohnette. The aesthetic sounds played are simple yet thrilling, creating a unique world. Also, “Four Winds”, which is played in the second half, is a famous song by Dave Holland that was included in his 1972 ECM debut album. You can listen to the famous song live. The piano played by Jack DeJohnette is no ordinary piano, with a delicate melody and a beautiful piano that even feels lyrical and melancholy. This is an item that allows you to truly experience the world view of ECM.
