Description
“VICTIMS AT HAMMERSMITH” is a recording of the London Hammersmith Odeon performance on February 11th from the world tour accompanying the release of “VICTIMS OF THE FUTURE” in 1984 with the highest quality audio recording that approaches the line sound source. Immediately after its release, it was hailed as the “best sound source of the 1984 tour”, and even after it was sold out and went out of print, fans continue to request its re-release. This time, in conjunction with the release of “MONUMENT FOR VICTIMS” which recorded the Hammersmith performance with the highest quality line sound source ever, this monumental masterpiece sound source will also be revived with a complete remaster! Since the time of the old edition, this sound source has amazed all fans with its splendid spread and separation of sound, and even though it was an audience recording, it has been described in a specialized magazine as “a sound source so clear that it would be comparable to being released as a regular edition.” But it was highly praised. This time, we have remastered it to further enhance its quality, and while maintaining the clarity and wideness of the sound, we have further improved the clarity of the sound and the power of the bass. The track allocation has also been revised, and songs such as the opening intro “Majestuso E’ Virtouso” and “So Far Away”, which introduces “Empty Rooms”, have been treated as independent songs based on current fan perceptions. The live performance is perfectly recorded, starting with the opening venue announcement that could not be heard on the line sound source. The surging performance that flows from “Majestuso E’ Virtouso” that announces the beginning of the show to “Rockin’ Every Night” is truly a feeling that gives goosebumps, and everyone who listens to it is sure to be knocked out. This vividness and power that cannot be enjoyed on the line, and the exquisite texture that envelops everything, are the privilege of high-quality audience recording! Gary’s amazing plays such as “Murder In The Skies” and “Don’t Take Me For A Looser” are recorded with a realistic sound rich in three-dimensionality, and in addition to “Blinder” and solo, Gary’s amazing play is recorded throughout the live performance. Ian Paice’s thundering drumming is also recorded clearly and dynamically from beginning to end. I can’t think of any other sound source where the high-level performances of each member are recorded so clearly, and it’s an audience recording of another dimension! The middle part of the live performance that can be heard in “MONUMENT FOR VICTIMS” will be completed as a document depicting the truth of the day by listening and comparing both sides. The atmosphere that captures the excitement of the audience with just the right amount of excitement will make you feel the excitement of “Empty Rooms” and “End Of The World” even more. Needless to say, “Victims Of The Future” and “Rockin’ And Rollin’”, which are not included in the line, are the biggest listening points of this work!
