Description
One of Gary Moore’s most valuable and high-quality live recordings has been restocked in response to strong requests from fans! It will be interesting to compare it with the live album “Blues For Jimi” which will be officially released in September! To commemorate the 40th anniversary of Jimi Hendrix’s London live performance, this special tribute live performance was held at London’s “Hippodrome” on October 25, 2007.This work is completely recorded with ultra-high quality audience recording. It sold out immediately after its previous release and remained difficult to obtain. This restock is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get this must-have for all Gary fans! Since the 1990s, Gary has almost always followed the blues path, although there have been some temporary changes in direction. However, Jimi Hendrix still has a large influence on him, and “Fire”, which he covered in 1999’s “A DEFERRENT BEAT”, was frequently featured in his live performances after 2000. In addition, the trio band “SCARS”, which was active from 2002 to 2003, brought to the fore musicality leaning towards Jimi Hendrix on albums and live shows, and played experimental and heavy rock from the 1960s. By playing with a strong color, he surprised many Gary fans. In this way, Jimi is one of Gary’s “admirations” along with the blues masters. So it must have been a great joy for him to be invited to this concert. In fact, in 2007 Gary was touring the UK and Europe throughout the year with the release of “CLOSE AS YOU GET”, and from September to October he was touring Eastern Europe and Northern Europe. However, Gary has saved the date for this October 25th and is participating in this tribute concert. This work uses an original DAT master that is not available even among traders, and is completely recorded with the highest sound quality suitable for recording this special live. The set list is (of course) all Jimi Hendrix songs. From the opening song “Purple Haze”, Gary plays these songs with intense and intense touch and exquisite tone with vocals and guitar. Backing the main set are Darin Mooney and Dave Bronze. In particular, Darin has been working with Gary for a long time, so his tight drums fit Gary’s playing perfectly. Dave also shows outstanding bass playing recognized by Robin Trower and Eric Clapton. Gary made a series of tasteful plays such as “Manic Depression”, “The Wind Cries Mary” and “I Don’t Live Today”. A number of famous songs are reproduced with Gary’s unique interpretation of each song, and the long guitar solos are all highly listenable and the fans can’t take their ears off the performance even for a moment. After the seventh song “Fire” was played, the biggest surprise of the live show finally arrived. When a member change was announced, Jimi’s allies Mitch Mitchell and Billy Cox appeared! I’ll be playing “Red House”, “Stone Free”, and “Hey Joe” as a trio with Gary. Gary co-starred with Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce in “BBM” from 1993 to 1994, and stands in the position of Eric Clapton from the CREAM era, who is one of his “admirers”. At that time, I was exactly in Jimi’s position. With the rhythm section of Mitch and Billy in the background, Gary plays the guitar as if he were the player he admires, and just listening to it makes him look happy and shining brightly! I can’t resist the exquisite groove and mood that swirls in the performance! Nothing can replace the joy of listening to their historic performance with the realism of the venue and the best tone. Even if you get this disc just for these three songs, if you’re a fan, you’ll definitely not be missing out. At the end, the rhythm section of Darin and Dave returns to the 10-minute “Voodoo Chile”, which concludes the dreamlike live performance. Around 2007, Gary has completely mastered the blues with a suppressed tone, but the stage where his essence of rocking is revealed will keep the listener excited for 75 minutes from the opening to the ending. I would like all the fans to enjoy Gary to their heart’s content as he gets into the groove and produces the best play and sound one after another. There are many live recordings of Gary, but this title is a highly recommended item that will make everyone who listens to it think, “Was Gary Moore such an amazing guitarist?” A miraculously high-quality audience recording that rivals the officially released live album “Blues For Jimi.” This is the only performance where Gary performed a Jimi Hendrix cover, and it is sure to gain further importance as the true complete recording of this night. It will be interesting to compare it with the official version take! Live at Hippodrome, London, UK 25th October 2007 ULTIMATE SOUND(from Original Masters) 1. Intro. 2. Purple Haze 3.
