Description

Although it was only a few years, the honeymoon between Japan and Gary Moore was so intense. Among them, a special live album has been released. What is so special about this work? First of all, this work was recorded at the legendary first visit to Japan. Gary toured Japan six times in his life, but his first visit to Japan in 1983 was special in many ways. First of all, let’s summarize his history of visits to Japan to understand its meaning.・January 22-February 1, 1983 (first visit to Japan, 9 shows)《May 1983: Neil Carter joined》・February 24-29, 1984 (5 shows)・October 8-17, 1985 (6 shows)・July 13-17, 1987 (4 shows)・May 6-13, 1989 (6 shows)《21 years later》・April 22-28, 2010 (5 blues shows) A total of 35 shows in Japan were realized in 6 tours. The last blues visit to Japan was unique, but the rest were all hard rock shows. They came to Japan once for each of the 5 VIRGIN albums from “CORRIDORS OF POWER” to “AFTER THE WAR”. Among them, 1983 was “particularly special”. The first visit to Japan was a huge hit with nine performances, the most in Gary’s history, the technical ensemble before he met his partner Neil Carter, the arrangement with a dedicated singer, etc. It was a tour of Japan different from other visits to Japan. This work is an audience album that contains the performance of the first visit to Japan, “January 27, 1983: Kyoto Kaikan”. This live album is even more special than the special year of 1983. What makes it special is the quality. The first visit to Japan was so popular that many official and unofficial records remain, but this is the best and longest of them all. Let’s organize the live records here.・January 22nd: Shibuya Public Hall “FACING GARY” ・January 24th: Tokyo Koseinenkin Hall Official/“HEAVY KNUCKLES” *CD1-2 ・January 25th: Tokyo Koseinenkin Hall Official ・January 26th: Osaka Festival Hall “CORRIDORS OF BLOOD” ・January 27th: Kyoto Kaikan [This album] ・January 28th: Fukuoka Sunpalace Hall ・January 30th: Nagoya City Public Hall ・January 31st: Tokyo Koseinenkin Hall “A THING OF THE PAST” *CD1-2 ・February 1st: Shibuya Public Hall “THE DEFINITIVE END” In this way, various live albums have been released, starting with the official masterpiece “ROCKIN’ EVERY NIGHT.” In fact, the album “January 27: Kyoto Kaikan” has been known for a long time, and “KYOTO 1983 TAPE MASTER” in particular was a famous recording that was honored as the “best performance in Japan” with its exquisite sound. This work is the ultimate version of that famous recording. It was not simply remastered, but was released very recently by “KRW_Collection”. The prestigious company made it into a CD directly from the original cassette, and it is truly a masterpiece that “cannot be better”. In fact, the sound of this work is more than enough to prove “the best performance in Japan”. In any case, the musical sound that goes “like a sound board” is intense, with a very thick core, a thick sound, and detailed details that are all of the highest quality. All the notes of all the instruments are powerful and beautiful from the start to the silence. Although the audience’s vivid clapping claims to be an audience recording, the sound quality itself is wonderful enough to reject poor line recordings. Despite the intense ensemble of British rock veterans, each sound reaches beautifully without clashing with the others, so it is an extraordinary high quality. And the ensemble of these superstars is the life of this work. The “COLOSSEUM II + DEEP PURPLE” trio of Ian Paice, Don Airey, and Neil Murray, centered around the main character Gary, is closer to Gabri. Moreover, this is not just about being good. After this, he will pursue the “ideal form of hard rocking Gary” with his “support partner” Neil Carter, but here the focus is not only on “hard rock” but also on “the clash between players”. It was called “COLOSSEUM 3” at the time, but the four-piece ensemble, reminiscent of even the fusion era, is exploding. In fact, in this work, you can enjoy the tension and fusion-like flavor of rock songs, but the highlight is the real fusion “Hurricane”! The album “BACK ON THE STREETS” also featured a fierce battle with the COLOSSEUM II team + Simon Phillips, but this is a live stage featuring Ian Paice’s drum solo. Considering the time when they were trying to sell it as hard rock, it is no wonder that this fusion competition was cut from the official album “ROCKIN’ EVERY NIGHT”, but that is why it is so vivid and unique to 1983, and it is the best song because of this member. Of course, there are many other songs that you can’t hear on “ROCKIN’ EVERY NIGHT” such as “End Of The World”, “Cold Hearted”, “Always Gonna Love You”, “Parisienne Walkways”, “Don’t Take Me For A Loser”, and “Gonna’ Break My Heart Again”, and in the final song “Sunset”, you can hear the MC “I’ll dedicate it to Randy Rhoads…” very clearly. Japan in 1983 was special even for “Hard Rock Gary”. This is the apex version of that apex recording. Not only hard rock, but also the afterglow and final point of the fusion era were engraved on it. A masterpiece of the highest class in Gary’s entire career. Live at Kyoto Kaikan, Kyoto, Japan 27th January 1983 TRULY PERFECT SOUND Disc 1(43:19) 1. Majestuso E Virtuoso 2. End Of The World 3.
