Description
From Gary Moore’s European tour accompanying the release of “RUN FOR COVER,” the performance in Bremen, Germany on October 30, 1985 is here for the first time in a 90-minute full-length version! Gary began his UK tour on September 7 after the release of “RUN FOR COVER,” performing a total of 16 shows in various locations, starting with the Cardiff performance. After that, he embarked on a full-scale world tour, and from October 8, he completed a Japan tour of six shows, including the Budokan performance, with the press CD title “RUN THROUGH THE NIGHTS” (Shades) also receiving positive reviews. After the end of the Japan tour, he will start a large-scale European tour on October 29, touring various European countries. The Bremen performance recorded on this sound source is the second day of the tour. Although the sound of the venue contains a lot of echo, and the bass input is a little strong, there are times when the contour feels a little diffuse, but the band’s performance is centered and well-balanced, and you can enjoy a lively and immersive sound. Although the bass distortion is a little noisy at the beginning of “Run For Cover”, the sound image recovers from the middle of the song to “Reach For The Sky” and after, the recording is stable, and you can enjoy the musical sounds unique to this period, where brilliance and hardness coexist. “Murder In The Skies”, where the roar of the guitar skillfully expresses the tune, and “Shapes Of Things”, capture the performance with a force that stands out from other recordings of the same period, and Gary’s excellent guitar and vocals pushed to the front are also wonderful to listen to. In the middle of this “Shapes Of Things”, the newly joined Bob Dissley also shows off his expert bass handling, which is a point not to be missed. From the heavy “Cold Hearted” and “End Of The World” to the catchy “Nothing To Lose” and “Empty Rooms” where Gary’s guitar creates a moving impression, the middle part of the live performance allows you to enjoy the vivid contrast of various colors unique to this ’85. “Victims Of The Future”, which occupies an important position in the set, is even more refined than the previous year’s tour, and the dramatic excitement will overwhelm the listener! “Out In The Fields”, which decorates the highlight of the live, is the speed of the guitar and Neil Carter’s keyboard that holds the key points, and you will be able to enjoy the excitement of the heart that will make you shiver no matter how many times you listen to it. From the show end that concludes with two encore songs, “Wishing Well” and “Back On The Streets”, this work will greatly appeal to the listener’s charm of rocking Gary! When comparing the sound sources of “Wishing Well”, “Shapes Of Things” and “Out In The Fields” in the “MONSTERS OF ROCK TAPES” series, the difference between the ’80s interpretation and the powerful 2003 version arrangement is very interesting, and you can enjoy listening to familiar numbers from a new angle and delve deeper. Also, although there are many excellent sound sources from the UK tour and Japan performances of this ’85 live, there have been no notable items since the start of the European tour, and this Bremen performance, which gives a glimpse into the early stages, will be an important title and one of the must-listen boards for fans.
