Description

The Gap band led the R&B scene from the late 70’s to the mid 80’s. This band is a disco funk band with Stevie Wonder-like vocalist Charlie Wilson singing melodically, and is a representative of 80’s funk and had a great influence on later hip-hop. Their heyday live performance in Rotterdam in 1983 is now available on the soundboard. The separation of instruments is a little unclear, but the vocals are very forward, and this is a soundboard recording using the original master recorded from the intro of the broadcast (the sound cuts out for a few seconds during Yearning for Your Love). . This was performed after the release of Gap Band IV, the album that became number one in R&B, when almost all of the hit songs had been released, so Setori must have known this as well. From the early funk of Shake to the R&B No. 2 You Dropped a Bomb on Me, there are countless amazing dancers, R&B continues, Charlie Wilson’s voice is in top form, and Dawn Silva from Brides of Funkenstein is also on tour. Participating in the event, P-Funk phrases will also appear. I think this is a title I definitely want to listen to. Ahoy, Rotterdam, Netherlands Jan 30, 1983 Intro Where Are We Going?
